They are perfectly shaped without mold but I can't candle them anymore. When I candle my newer eggs I can see them light up with a pinkish color or they light up with a yellow color(infertile) but my older eggs I can not see through them at all. Is this good? I am obviously new at this and can not find any info.

Incubating method? Will it work?

Okay, for starters, I have NOT started breeding. I'm just curious.

I read on this one website a certain method of incubation: You can have a tub of water, put an aquarium heater inside the water, and heat it to the desired temperature for the sex of leos you want. Then, you put another smaller container in the tub of water, that has perlite or some other incubation media inside of it, that is slightly moist. Then I guess you put a lid on the bigger container, with no holes, and just lift it occasionally for air exchange. This website didn't specify.

So one of my questions is: Would this work? It seems like it could work very well, considering the eggs would be receiving all the humidity they need, and it's a good and easy way to keep the temp even - because aquarium heaters have built in thermostats.

Anyhow, my point is - I want to one day breed leos, and I really want to know if this method would work, before I try it and end up messing up some perfectly healthy eggs.
I also have all the supplies needed for this, considering I have tons of aquariums, and have extra really high quality heaters lying around everywhere.

If this could work, I'll ask a couple more questions that have to do with this technique.

Thank you!! :)

AND: just in case any of you think I'm going crazy...

"An aquarium with an under water heater set to a particular temperature. Have the eggs in a tupperware of some sort, partially sitting in the water."
http://hubpages.com/hub/Breeding_Leopard_Geckos

lol Thanks again!

Hello, I have 4 leo eggs that still haven't hatched and might be molding. 1 was laid on June 22nd, 1 was laid on July 1st, and 2 were laid on July 15th. When should they've hatched? The 1 that was laid on july 1st's clutchmate went bad, It was fine and then it looked like it started to leak and then it molded. What happened there? Also the june 22nd one looks normal but looks to be yellow on the inside but hasn't molded yet. I thought they wouldn't hatched by now. They all looked fine until they were old enough to hatch. The 2 july 15th ones still look fine but might be molding, they kind of look fuzzy. The rest of my eggs look fine right now. I just want to know what I am doing wrong. Please help! Thanks!

I have one that is growing white fuzz. I wiped it off and candled all of the eggs. I don't see any red in them but they are all in great shape. Are they all infertile or could I be candling them wrong? Any tips would be great!

Ideas on reclaiming an MR-148?

So, early on in my breeding season, my MR-148 crapped out (after working for just two months). Everything works fine, but the heating element must have broken. The fan turns on and runs, it just doesn't heat at all.

Now that I've made other arrangements and my season will end soon with the next clutch hatching, my attention turns back to the MR-148 and I wonder if I can modify it somehow to work again. Those of you with electronic experience, do you have any pointers on how I can figure out what I need to do? Just replacing the heating element would be fine, then I'd try it out again next season. I'm going to try to contact Princess International, the manufacturer to see if I can get a replacement part. Worse case scenario, I can tap the box and use heat tape and an external thermostat just like I would a mini-fridge modification.

Any guidance, oh wise gecko forum?
