I found this snake in my backyard in Apple Valley and I was wondering what it is. I know it's a bad photo, but it's the only photo I got before it slithered away. Thanks.

So I have created a new hide box for my corn. It is solid black plastic (basically a mac n cheese container from Kroger). I was wondering when it comes to putting opening(s) should I do the top, the side? Just 1 or maybe 2 on opposite sides? I know snakes like to feel secure do they like escape hatches or to just defend one opening?

Then covered the plant stuff witha plywood board

Put her stacks back and positioned a basking lamp over the buried board
She did have 4 other nesting options to choose from.

The eggs were put on a slightly damp perlite/vermiculite mix, covered with polyethyline and a well ventilated lid
Not gonna do anything special incubation wise. Just gonna let them cook at room temp.

I caught these guys in a tunnel in eastern colorado, close to Westminster/Denver. I marked it in my field notes and then let them go, but I don't know whether they are eastern or western yellow bellied racers. Should I mark them C. constrictor mormon (western) or C. constrictor flaviventris (eastern)? Any help is appreciated!
