So I guess my little piggy has fur... She is a 4 month old mini pot-bellied piggy. I absolutely adore her. She gets so excited when it's breakfast and dinner time and has TONS of personality. I heard people say that pigs are really smart but didn't know how smart they were until we got her. She was introduced to a litter box for the first time the day we got her and was going in it by the end of the day.

Enjoy the pics! :)

As smart as three year old humans!
You should get her a piggy companion :)

She seems smarter than a three year old hahaha ;p

If I lived on a farm I would get her a piggy companion. Right now her two best friends and 2 female chickens and our dogs get along with her too.. however, they are only allowed to be near each other under close supervision and for only a little bit at a time.

Pigs are a cruel trick of nature; they look adorable and fuzzy and sweet, and then you pet them and their barbed-wire hair rips your hand to pieces :bigcry: I always fall for it too.

That said, your little piggy is pretty darned cute. I really, really love her pattern. Is mini-pig hair any softer than regular-pig hair?

Pigs: Adorable and intelligent, but I'd rather pet a porcupine. :main_laugh:

Her hair is not wiry by any means. It is actually quite soft. That may change with age but for now she is a cute, cuddly, soft baby! :) hahaha her but is the softest part! (maybe because she has some junk in the trunk)

I've read pigs are actually clean animals, but do you have any problems with its feet scratching the floor or tracking in dirt?

Actually I have not noticed any scratching of the floor at all. And if she were to track in dirt, she probably does, i would assume the dogs would do it too so I don't think it's an issue. She is a very very clean animal. She wont even go in her litter box if there is more than two little poops in there! haha

She also tucks herself into bed at night. honest to god, we have a HUGE moving blanket that we put in her pig room (she has a large bathroom in the basement where she sleeps) and I went down there the first night we got her and didn't see her. I said, "piggy!?" and the blanket started moving. After that, I would find her covered up to her neck... looked like a person tucked her in! :)

She precious!!! One of my friends breeds micro pigs and they are pretty much the greatest creatures on Earth. Our city ordinances are very strict on swine so I can't have one but the next house we buy will definitely be in a more pig friendly location! Give me a shout if you need a harness. I make harnesses designed specifically for mini pigs. They're called Bacon Wraps. lol

She's adorable! I would love to have one some day. My husband already wants a goat and some chickens, so a pig couldn't hurt. We really need to have more property though.

We have a medium sized backyard and she is fine. She lives in the house like a dog and gets walked (sometimes) so I don't think she has a problem not having acres and acres. Chickens are fun, we have 2! :)

Our city recently made pigs illegal pets within city limits. :( my neighbour down the street still has one, Gary, who he walks on a leash at night (animal control is asleep). He is precious. It is important that you keep their weight down by lots of excersize and healthy diet. My grandmother bred pots years ago, there are several pictures of me as a toddler holding a screaching baby.

Where'd you get it and for how much? If I remember correctly, they're not easy to find and they're pretty expensive.

~Maggot

I got her when I was in Kentucky. I just searched online for someone who had a mini pig. We payed $140. She will only get about 20-30 pounds... supposedly. hahaha we will see though.
