new gerbil owner, what else do i need

so im looking to get a pair of male gerbils sometime soon. i havent bought anything yet but the things im going to buy consist of

a tank (24"x15"x12")
a screen top for the tank
food
food dish
water bottle
treats
aspen
timothy hay
toys (mainly things they can chew)
a wheel
chinchilla sand (for a dust bath)

also does anyone know where in the uk i can get a screen top to fit the tank im getting. all the sites ive been on are american

Your list sounds pretty good. Not sure mine would take a sand bath but might be worth a shot. Also I found that instead of buying toys mine were happier destroying things I had around the house or could make. I gave them toilet paper rolls (a definite favorite), construction paper buildings and old socks. They pretty much chewed up everything in record time so I didn't see much point in spending money on things. Good luck! Gerbils make awesome pets!!
