Rescued Iggy

My Fiancee's Sister-in-law has been trying to get me to Buy her Iguana off of her for the last couple months. (She is 8.5 months pregnant now, and wanted to make room for the baby) i have never been to her house to see the Iguana because i didnt need another one. Well 2 days ago We went over there to drop some stuff off for the baby and i asked to see the Iguana. I really couldnt believe what i saw. The poor thing was in a really small cage, No supplemental Lights, or heat. I asked her how long she has been keeping her like this and she said 4-5 years. She ie VERY malnourished and extremely underweight. She has been fed a Diet of lettuce, cabbage and carrots. But judging from her weight meals were few and far between.:main_thumbsdown:

This morning i opened the cage door to feed the iguana and I thought i was being attacked but she LITERALLY ran out of the cage and sat on my lap and ate her whole bowl of Turnip Greens and Acorn Squash and then looked at me for more. That made me feel alot better not knowing if she would eat or not. I will be giving her a Nice warm bath in the morning and will also post some pics then.

The poor girl. Sounds like her hero showed up just in the nick of time.

Thanks, I am deff gonna do my best with this girl. 2 days in a row now she has ate 2 full bowls of greens and Acorn Squash. which leads me to think she was starved and not sick :main_no:
