I have just recently bought a leopard gecko and I feed him crickets from my local pet store. I get the crickets home put them in a container ( I ussaly get 20 ) put oatmeal fruit and a contamor of water with a spoon in it so they can climb out. Within a couple of hours most of them have died or lie on their backs twitching! What's going on?

What kind of container are you using for the crickets? I would recommend taking them back to the pet store for replacement. It would also be good to see if the other crickets at the pet store are OK.

I had the same thing happen to me. Could be a virus, and if you think it is and you get more crickets keep the possibly virus ridden ones that are still alive in a different container.
End of the day is very important that buyer have to ensure the seller is selling quality crickets which is not sick and the only way is to observe it's lively/active and it shouldn't be any dead or slow moving crickets in the box/container you're buying.

Only thing I can add is to clean any store-bought veggies. I once had a die-off that was clearly due to pesticides and such that they use on our food. Honestly though, crickets will die if you look at them wrong. I quickly found an alternative staple feeder. I like dubia roaches, myself. Much hardier, among other advantages.
