A Tub of Tangerines (pic heavy!)

And now, the promised tub of... lots of different babies!

First is Prisma. His front leg broke when he was three day days old, and the vet said that he was too small to do anything for it. So it set sideways, and he will always walk on his wrist. He also refuses to eat. So I dont know if I will just call this a case of failure to thrive or not... If he continues to starve himself I will probably just cull him before he starves to death.



Next is his clutchmate, Scholar. (BTW they are both trempers pos het eclipse, blizzard)



This is Swift! She has a more brown color than the other trempers I have produced, but she is pretty sweet (same morph as the other two)



This is Dr. Eyebrows! He is a normal pos het tremper, eclipse, and blizzard.



This is Garnet. She is a tremper blazing blizzard poos het eclipse



This is my big boy, Newt! He is a blizzard pos het tremper and pos het eclipse He finally developed a paradox spot! Or more like a freckle... on his tail



And finally, Meeps. This little guy has already been sold to a very eager family friend, and they are extremely excited about it!

This is dad, Maverick. He is a normal het blizzard and tremper.



And this is mom, Porkchop. She is a tremper het blizzard, and eclipse. Unfortunately I will not be breeding her again because of her tail kink. The breeder told me that it wasn't genetic, and was due to a fight with a cagemate, but the slightly kinked tails of my babies disagree.

Next year will be even better! I am ordering a 1.2 breeding group later today, and I'll make a thread when I get them. But the genetics are a surprise for now! (except for the two people who already know )

Unfortunately the first baby on the tub of albino page became lethargic and wouldnt open his eyes, so I ,made the difficult decision to cull him. I also put down his clutchmate because it also refused to eat (vomiting when it did eat) and had developed MBD to the point where it couldnt walk without flopping around. (it also had a notched eyelid and a very kinked tail) I feel horrible, and I have no idea what went wrong They were kept the excat same way as I kept all of my other babies, fed the same (when they would eat) ,and dusted the same. All of my other babies are fine, and I have had no issues like this with any other baby that I hatched.

Sorry for the little ones that didnt do too well. But the tangerines you produced are stunning. Will any be for sale?

That's not right that the breeder lied to you about the female's tail. I feel like because of that, there were a lot of problems and complications that caused birth defects and things that, unfortunately, some hatchlings could not live with. I wish you luck with your new geckos and their offspring. It's one thing if a gecko has a slight deformity, but when there are many and they end up causing casualties for the offspring, that's where the breeder overstepped the line by not telling you anything. Did the person ever breed her before?

Kiarra- Yes, she was sitting at the table with a bunch of her hatchlings and her sister to boot! But there were only a few of her babies left, and THEY had straight tails. Some of her babies this year also have straight tails, but I cannot morally reccomend breeding any of tthe kinked tail ones unfortunately

I am still very sad about having to cull those babies, but if I hadn't they would have slowly withered away, and I just couldnt let that happen...

Kash- Yes, I have ads in the classifieds right now, but please PM me when you get a chance. If you are looking for breeding animals you should go to a better breeder though. None of my tangerines have known genetics. Damsel was producing infertile eggs, and I have heard (and noticed) that infertile eggs are generally larger and less calcified than a fertile egg, making it more likely that she would get eggbound (she was only like 45 grams I believe). So i bred her to Dinosaur in order to preserve her health and prevent eggbinding. It just so happens that the tangerines that hatched from those eggs were rather nice.... So I cannot reccomend breeding any of my tangerines due to their genetic background unless you want to take the time to prove them out.

If she begins laying infertile eggs next year, I will breed her again, but I will freeze the eggs after they are laid. If she remains without eggs, this will simply have been her first and last season.

Tail kinks sometimes happen with incubator temp fluctuations though....However nice tang group!

I don't think I can contribute it to the incubator, because all of my tangs have straight tails, but they were from the same incubator But thank you for the compliment! People do seem to like my tangs this year! XD
