Hello everyone!

This is my first post and I've attached three pics of my first Leopard Gecko. I bought him/her from a local breeder two days ago. He/she is very energetic and curious. Yesterday he/she ate 3 small crickets dusted with Exo-Terra Calcium with D3 and today he/she ate his first two meal worms also dusted with Exo-Terra Calcium +D3. I have his/her hot spot set at 85 degrees (air temp) with a 90 degree floor temp and his/her cold spot at 75 degrees.

I've noticed he/she has some pink coloration on the tip of his/her nose that I didn't notice initially. Hopefully you can see the coloration I'm talking about in the pictures I'm posting.

Also, I'm using bottled water. Is this okay or should I use distilled water instead?

My final question is: If the hatchling is approx 4 inches long, when should I expect it's first shed (with me anyways)? I've provided a hide filled with wet sphagnam moss just in case I'm not present for the shed. Idk why I want to be there for the shed...I just kind of do. I also don't wanting him/her losing any toes or claws.

Cute!

I'm not exactly sure about the water. It is my understanding that tap water is okay so long as you put in a couple drops of conditioner to remove any chlorine and/or chloramine your city's treatment system adds. A bottle of conditioner should be about $5 in the aquarium section of any pet store. Lasts for months.

Not an expert -new owner myself- so I shall hold off from the other questions and let more experienced folks field those.

What a cutie! I tend to use spring water and drinking water for my guys. I use ReptiSafe (blue with a turtle on it) water conditioner in whatever I use, since it's got added vitamins and minerals, but most regular aquarium water conditioners are fine.

They shed all the time at that young age. Every week or so even. I love being home to watch them shed! I get to see my youngest (about a year old) shed almost every time. The other two are pretty secretive about it and do it late a night and stay holed up. Raven wanders around the whole tank and tries to get to feed him anyways. He's a fat kid at heart LOL
