So early last month I bought my first leo after a year of looking around and learning about them. I was just wondering what exactly his morph was? I'm still trying to learn these things haha I am pretty certain he is some form of albino because if I remember correctly albinos mean they lack black? Anywho here are some pictures.

Based on the coloration and due to the eyes being silver with red veins, I would say that it is a Tremper Albino.

Yeh, he actually has golden brown eyes in person. I thought looking up albinos on google would help but all of them were a ton darker than him haha.

I'm just throwing things out there. Maybe a Mack Snow mixed with a Tremper Albino or a Rainwater Albino. Then there's even maybe a Tremper Snowglow. Where did you purchase this leo from?

I bought him from a big chain pet store. Not the CO one, didn't realize you couldn't say names ;o haha Looking at pictures of those he looks really close, but I'm figuring he is just some basic since he was at a pet store. I realize it's really hard to figure it out though since I don't know what his parents were and so on.

You'd be surprised; sometimes the chain pet stores (even the co one) have nice animals without knowing it. I've got an insane tangerine, a lavender partial stripe mack snow, a pure high yellow blizzard, and a Tremper patty all from chains. Some I even got on clearance sales for 15$ :D so in short, it's possible for pet store chains to have nice animals if you know what to look for, but the downside is you can't prove it unless you test breed.

But on the down side your supporting stores who usually don't give these animals the proper care, and at the same time taking sales away from breeders who love these animals and care properly for them.

The key here is USUALLY don't provide proper care. A few of the local chains where I live bend the rules from corporate and actually do a pretty decent job with the reptiles; surprisingly some actually care about them haha. And I do agree that we should support breeders, but not everyone has the money for that- I certainly don't. So if I have to choose between a 15$ lavender mack snow on clearance at ***co, and the same gecko at "so and so reptiles" for 125$, I'm gonna go with the pet store- nothing against the hobby, just my wallet.

I think chain stores are ok for getting people into the hobby. Like a first pet. But if anyone decides to breed, please buy geckos with known genetics from a breeder. It doesn't have to be something expensive or high end. There are plenty of breeders who have babies for $20-$30 at times. While there are a couple pet stores that take decent care of the animals, most do not. And we don't see all the animals that die because they are shipped too young.

Sor ry to say even the few chains that do take decent care they all ship way to young, and for every 4 you see there 1 died on the way. A clear conscience Is worth another 15 bucks no?

Yeh, I'm fully aware of what goes on behind closed doors so to speak. I won't try and justify buying from a big name petstore, I just got excited about how pretty I thought he was and that I didn't have to spend a ton of money on one. However, I got lucky considering he was a lot healthier than the others, but it was likely due to the size difference.

I also have to go with the whole buying cheaper, but mainly because I just wanted one as a pet.

Anywho thanks to all those who replied!
