Hello everyone. I went to a store last night and saw this jewel. just had to have her. Im pretty sure she has MBD. She walks on her wrists and drags her belly. Any suggestions as to what i can do would be greatly appreciated. also, I wanted to know what morph she is... mack snow? onyx? I know this is sort of a morph question and a health question.

Awh, poor baby. I also rescued a pet store gecko with MBD a while back, I treated her for it and she's doing really good now. When I got her she used to drag her belly also like you described.

I would recommend getting some liquid calcium drops and giving her 2 drops every other day with a syringe in her mouth. I would also put a few drops in her water bowl.
Dust every feeding with calcium (without d3), and once a week with d3.
I have one of those water bowls with a ramp, so she can get to it easily.
You'll also probably have to hand feed her. :)

Oh, and make sure her hides are easy to get in to. I had to get larger hides for her because she couldn't turn around.

And make sure she has proper belly heat, but not to hot because she drags her belly :)

Ok thank you very much for the suggestions! Im glad to hear your gecko is doing much better! I will go out and get some liquid calcium today! I am dusting her feeders with calcium with d3. I have to get some more pure calcium for her tank as well. and i will look into getting another hide that would be easier for her to get into! thank you very much!

No problem :)

This was her when I first got her:

She can now lift herself up on all four of her legs and crawl around :) her legs will never straighten, but your gecko with regain her strength like mine did. Let me know if you have anymore questions :)

Shes pretty! Glad she found someone who will take care of her. I have gotten some pure calcium that I leave in her tank and I also got liquid calcium that I spray on her feeders. And also I had some calcium with d3. She caught a cricket this morning! And she's been taking the calcium very well. Seems to be helping.

Make sure your leaving calcium WITHOUT d3 in her tank, they can overdose on d3.

Aw, I'm glad she caught a cricket! Make sure you pay attention to how much she's eating.

She should start showing signs of improvement soon :)
