Would you call her a Bandit? (PIC HEAVY)

So my girl Cheech comes from Bandit lines (Bold Bandit het Tremper x Lavender Bandit het Tremper), and I was told by the breeder that she is a Lavender Bandit het Tremper. She did have quite a bit of lavender as a baby, but I'm not 100% sure her markings qualify her as a Bandit, though. I don't want to market her incorrectly so I thought I'd ask for more experienced opinions. Currently, I'm calling her an Abberent High Yellow Normal het Tremper until I get some opinions.

Will try to show some from when she was younger to currently, unfortunately pic quality sucks because I only have my phone to use. [emoji20]

Lots of geckos have lavender when they are young no matter what bloodlines. The ones that keep it when they reach adulthood are lavenders. I have never worked with bandits but I have never seen one look like that. I think you are correct with high yellow. I would like to see the parents this breeder is calling bandits.

I'm not familiar with bandits either. She does have what appears to me to be the classic Bandit head markings with the smiley face, etc. I don't know if she thought the lavender would stay with her as an adult. Other than some bandit markings on her head I don't see it either.

I would not label her as bandit. if both parents were bandit crosses (which they were if they were het tremper), then she could not be anything more than a cross. She certainly is keeping some of the boldness, though.

Also, if both parents were het tremper, she has a 66% chance of being het tremper. It isn't a guarantee, as it seems the breeder portrayed.

Thanks. That definitely clears it up. She will stay my little Abberent High Yellow girl. [emoji4]

I think I am the one who messed up her het though. I'm still learning my hets and genetics and I think when she told me that both parents were het for tremper, that it stuck in my mind that she was het for tremper and not poss. het for tremper.

The male she is bred to is a HTCT ph Tremper. If I don't get any albino babies out of my clutches from this pairing, do you suggest I get a male that is either 100% het Tremper or has Tremper in it to try and prove her out next year?

I was thinking about getting a Blood RAPTOR to pair with my RAPTOR female next year anyway. Would that work or would that be a bad pairing with her? Do you have any suggestions? I am trying to produce some quality geckos over quantity. So I want to put her with a male that will make nice geckos, but not all normals. (They're not all that popular. ha) I don't care that she isn't a Bandit and just a Normal. She still has some nice deep blacks (only bottom pic had been filtered) and pretty pattern. I would like to play up her coloring if possible.

Thanks again for all your guidance guys.

To answer your original question. What makes a bandit a bandit, is the "band" that goes across the nose of the gecko. If it doesn't have that then they are sometimes called Halloween masks or bold bandits with just the smiley face.

Now, to be truly considered a bandit the gecko would have to come from Tremper or someone with his stock. And before purchasing it from someone beside RT I would ask for some kind of documentation on the dam and sire. Especially if you plan on breeding them. And as true with most anything you buy from RT, it could possibly be a giant or het for Albino.

On your last question. If I were you I would consider finding like a Sunglow or an Emerine het Tremper( if that is what strain your raptor is) so you could produce an more than just on line of gecko.

Thank you! I will try to get a hold of her previous breeder to see if she traces back to Ron Tremper. She definitely isn't a giant and a het for it wasn't disclosed (if there is one), but she is ph Tremper.

This is my RAPTOR female no hets from Magical Geckos. She is the one on top.
