Hello. =)

I would appreciate some advice from experienced breeders on which of my hatchlings I should holdback to start my typhoon project next season, if any. I want to produce decent tangerine typhoons. Do either of these hatchlings have good potential to start this project? Do I need to wait longer to see how they develop more before deciding?

Here is each of them with a list of pros and cons. These colors are very accurate.

Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail (Poss baldy) het Rainwater albino and Eclipse (1 month old)

Pros: Pretty decent tangerine with promising carrot tail so far (I think?), also abbarent pattern (higher chance of getting varied patterns in offspring?)
Cons: Only het eclipse

Super Hypo Tangerine Eclipse het Rainwater albino (3 months old)

Pros: Homozygous eclipse, sort of decent orange
Cons: Not as tangerine as the other one, not much of a carrot tail, banded pattern

Here is the hatchling I decided to give to a friend as a pet due to fading eclipse traits:

I'm not an experienced breeder, but I also would say the first one! You can always get the recessive traits like albino and Eclipse on future crosses, but the line-bred ones like tangerine are more effort to breed in. :)

So what do you guys have to say about the quality of the tang? Good tang? Okay? I'm having trouble judging the qaulity of my own hatchlings correctly because I'm still just stoked to have them, it being my first successful season and all.

I am, once again, far from an experienced breeder but I think it's a decent looking tang! I hope it holds that beautiful bright colour through to adulthood! :)

So, basically, IMO it's a good lookin' tang.

If I were rating it 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7. There are better tangs out there, but I like this one better than average. The broken pattern elevates it for me, and looks like it's got a nice glow to it.
