Hi! I'm new to owning a reptile, and my leopard gecko is about 4 and a half months old. He is already 6 and a half to 7 inches long. Is he a giant?? I know that a normal male leopard gecko is about 8-10 inches long, at about a year old. But mine is already close to that!

Unless you bought the gecko from a breeder who sold it as a giant, than he is probably not a giant. Giants aren't very common.

I've found that geckos grow at very individual rates. I had some that reached adult size in a very short period of time while others took much longer.

I believe the guidelines are that a gecko must reach 100-110 grams without being overweight within the first year of life to be a giant.
