are there any leopard gecko morphs that cannot be crossed, because if done so they will die? like the aft patternless and albinos?

anything for any other species?

just wondering how common this actually is.

No. There is nothing like that with Leos.

And... Where did you get this information of crossing two AFT morphs = death?

I know a few people that have NOT experienced that.

Thank you for the link Nigel.

Just to clarify ... It isn't the crossing of the two morphs that is fatal. It is the double homozygous Patternless Albino that is fatal. The hets are fine. That is really weird.

David I think you read it wrong. The way I read it was that the 2 traits are not compatible at all. Even Breeding the Homo Patternless to a het Albino was Fatal. Sounds like every Double het was either Dead or very very weak or Deformed.

You are totally right. I read patternless het albinos. Not patternless with het albinos. Thanks for the correction.

I wonder if TUG has had the same results.

i heard that alot die in the egg and that the babies dont do well (eye problems and such) so i dont think it is fatal maybe just some more work needs to be done

i think Paul Allen was working on them as well maybe he will post something too

Ken, I know several who have done enigma x enigma crossings, and I have not heard of any reports of a fatal gene. Perhaps is there is a 'super' version of the enigma, it could be different.

I thought Garrik has all ready been selling Embers? I have seen several for sale last year.

We will let Garrick explain what is going on Paco. The majority of the for sale were probably het Embers.

I said I saw a few for sale. Nope these were Embers, I know my morphs pretty well, who is working with what, also current market prices, just about all the time. They were running around $1,000 when they were available. No het Ember cost that much. even when they first were produced.

Brian Russo has all ready Breed a Female Ember he Got from Garrik. So I know they were for sale. Not many but a few.

This was all ready a topic in another thread I started about lethal genetics. I think Garriks name came up about Blazing Blizzards as well when they first came onto the scene. Since he was one of the first to produce them as well.
