does anyone know if there is a database of known variations in loe gecko genetics.
I have searched alot and found a great deal of info...but no centeralised and consistant data. It seems that no one has a set standard.

Well the reason for no Set Standard is because everyone seems to have different opinions on what this and that is...

But for a general idea I would check out www.leopardgeckowiki.com for more info.

Or just post here on the forums ;)

compiled known morphs and thier makeup Part2

APTOR
An APTOR is a Tremper Albino Patternless Orange Leopard Gecko. APTORs are a combination morph of two recessive traits and line bred colors. The APTORs were first developed by Ron Tremper in 2004. Currently, Ron has crossed his Giant line into the APTORs, creating larger APTORs. Along with the Giant line crossings, many of the first APTORs who were produced were 100% heterozygous for the Eclipse trait.

Aberrant
An Aberrant Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko which has a broken pattern. Most comonly, Aberrants are seen in Mack Snows and Normals. The broken patterns can occur in either the tail or on the body. A common broken pattern on the Leopard Geckos body is a circle back.

Baldy

Great Example of a Baldy S.H.T.C.T.A Baldy Leopard Gecko is a Super Hypo with no spotting on the head. The Baldy trait was first developed by Gourmet Rodent. Just like the Super Hypos and the Super Hypo Carrot Tails, the Baldy trait is believed to be Line-Bred of Poly Genetic. Meaning, in order to produce Baldy's, the best chances are to breed the geckos with the least amount of spotting.

Banana Blazing Blizzard
A Banana Blazing Blizzard is a combination of 3 recessive traits, Blizzard, Murphy Patternless, and any one of the three Albino strains. A Banana Blazing Blizzard is a Blizzard which shows shades of yellow from the Murphy Patternless trait. The eyes of the Banana Blazing Blizzard look like the eyes of the albino strain they are from.
To date, no one has been able to produce a Banana Blazing Blizzard. When one is produced, it will need to be test bred to a Murphy Patternless and a Blizzard to prove it is homozygous for both traits.

Bell Albino
The Bell Albino is the newest of the three Leopard Gecko Albino Strains and was discovered by Mark Bell. The eyes of the Bell Albinos is the easiest way to tell them apart from the other two strains. Their eyes are a light pink color. As for the body, they tend to have brown spots. Bell Albinos also express a lavender color on their body.

Bell Crosses
Currently many breeders are working with Bell Albinos. Kelli Hammack from Hiss has developed many different Bell crosses. One of the most unique crosses she has is a Bell Enigma. The Bell Enigma is an Enigma with solid red eyes. She also has many beautiful Bell Snows, Super Snow Bells, Striped Bells, and Bell Hybinos.

Blazing Blizzard
This is an example of the Tremper Blazing Blizzard.A Blazing Blizzard is a combination morph of the Blizzard morph and any of the 3 Albino strains. A Blazing Blizzard is a Blizzard which will have more of a yellow coloring. The eyes will also look like the eyes of it's respective albino strain.
Bell Blazing Blizzard
Currently, only 2 Bell Blazing Blizzards have been produced. The Original Bell Blazing Blizzard was produced by Kelli Hammack from [Hiss]. Shortly after it hatched it died. As of July 9th 2008, Steve Sykes from [Geckos Etc.] produced the Second Bell Blazing Blizzard ever produced, but the First Viable Hatchling from what is a 6 year project according to Steve Sykes.

Hybino
A Hybino, also known as a Hypo-Albino, is a combination of the Super Hypo and any one of the three albino strains. Generally Hybinos are described as geckos with an all yellow body and albino colored eyes. When seeking to create Hybinos, it is generally done in the second generation. The first pairings would be an Albino x Super Hypo. The babies would then be breed back to eachother. There would then be a 25% chance of making Hybinos in the second generation.

Mack Snow Albino
This is a Mack Snow Tremper Albino hatchling. Notice how white the body is (Johnson).A Mack Snow Albino is a Mack Snow crossed with anyone of the three albino strains. When compairing a Mack Snow hatchling to a Mack Snow Albino hatchling, the black bands of the Mack Snow will be brown or pink on the Mack Snow Albino. The hatchling will also have eyes which match it’s respective strain. As adults, some hold their white, while others will look more like regular albinos.
The Mack Snow Albinos have acted as sort of a gateway to other new combination morphs. Currently there are Super Snow Albinos, Mack Snow Patternless Albinos, Mack Snow RAPTORs, and Mack Snow Blazing Blizzards. All of these new combinations have surfaced in either late 2006 or in 2007.

Black Hole
A Black Hole is a combination morph of one dominate trait (Enigma), one incomplete dominate trait (Mack Snow), and a recessive trait (Eclipse). The first Black Hole was hatched by A&M Geckos and debuted on Gecko Forums on January 26, 2007. With the Black Holes, the Eclipse trait blocks out the coloring the Enigma trait would show in the eyes so the eyes are a solid black. The body pattern of the Black Hole will vary because of the Enigma trait.

Black Pearl
History
The Black Pearl morph is currently in its developement stages. The European breeder, Living Art Geckos and Asko Kampinga have been working on the project. According to their site, the Black Pearls first appeared in a Dutch zoo who had received a shipment of Leopard Geckos from the wild. In 2006, Living Art Geckos and Asko Kaminga received some Black Pearls. As of right now, they and the Black Velvets are the closest geckos the Leopard Gecko Community has to Melanistic Leopard Geckos.

Black Velvet
This is an example of one of Blackie's hatchlings (Aronsson).
The Black Velvet morph is currently in its developement stages. The European breeder, Team Artlink Geckos has been working on the project. Blackie, the original Black Velvet, is a random mutation. Her parents are from Wild Caught Leopard Geckos. Currently, Blackie is approaching age eight. This past season, Blackie produced 14 hatchlings. Team Artlink Geckos plans to breed some of the hatchlings back to Blackie in order to reproduce Blackie's look. Black Velvets and the Black Pearls are the closest geckos the Leopard Gecko Community has to Melanistic Leopard Geckos.

Blizzard
The Blizzard morph, discovered by Jay Villa of Prehistoric Pets in 1995, is very similar to the Murphy Patternless morph. Like the Murphy Patternless morph, the Blizzard morph is a simple recessive morph. As hatchlings, Blizzards are completely patternless and their colors will vary from white, to yellow, to a deep purple. As they grow older, most change within the color scale mentioned previously. The darker Blizzards are usually marketed as Midnight Blizzards, but there seems to be nothing which controls the dark pigments. The more yellow Blizzards are often marketed as Banana Blizzards, but a true Banana Blizzard is a Murphy Patternless Blizzard. Another trait which seems to randomly pop up with Blizzards is Snake Eyes or solid eyes. As of right now, there is nothing genetic behind the Snake Eyes or Eclipse Eyes in Blizzards. Most people have them randomly pop up.

Blizzard Crosses
There are many different Blizzard combinations out there. Currently the most popular are the Diablo Blancos, R.A.P.T.O.R.s crossed with Blizzards and Super Snow Blizzards or Mack Snow Blizzards. The Diablo Blancos were first developed by Ron Tremper in 2006. The appearance of a Diablo Blanco is a solid white body with solid red eyes. The Mack Snow and Super Snow Blizzards look like Blizzards, but tend to have a frosty coloring to them.
The more common Blizzard cross available on the market right now are Blazing Blizzards. Blazing Blizzards are Blizzards who have been crossed with Albinos. Currently, there are only Rainwater Blazing Blizzards and Tremper Blazing Blizzards. Kelli Hammack from Hiss has produced one Bell Blazing Blizzard, but it died soon after hatching. So far, that has been the only Bell Blazing Blizzard.

Blue Tail
Blue Tail History
The Blue Tail morph was developed by Helena Nova from the Czech Republic in 2005 when she paired a male normal het Tremper Albino with a hypomelanistic female. The pairing brought Helena a female Blue Tail named Mango. In 2006, Helena crossed Mango with a Tremper Albino male. From the pairing, two eggs were produced; one was a Tremper Albino and the other was a Normal. This proved Mango to be heterozygous for Tremper Albino. In 2007, two Blue Tails were produced by original pairing that brought us Mango. One of the hatchlings was a male and will be bred in 2008 to Mango, the original female Blue Tail.
Blue Tail Genetics
It is currently unknown how the Blue Tails work genetically. So far, all three Blue Tails have come from the original pairing, male normal het Tremper Albino and a hypomelanistic female. Helena from Macularius web will have a breeding group this year to help learn more about this amazing morph.

Bold Stripe
A Bold Stripe Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko where the pattern runs along the sides of the Leopard Gecko. Genetically, Bold Stripes are thought to be Line Bred although some say they are recessive. After many years of outcrossing Bold Stripes to Normals, it has been concluded that this morph is an Incomplete Recessive. Meaning that this morphs mode of inheritance can vary throughout the bloodline, but Line-Bred and Recessive Bold Stripes are currently being considered the same Genotype.
Bold Stripe Crosses
Currently there are a number of Bold Stripe morphs. Most notable are Bold Stripe Albinos(Of all 3 Strains) and Bold Stripe Mack Snows. Bold Stripe Albinos are currently being seen in the Tremper and Bell Albino strains, rumors of Rainwater Bold Stripes are floating around the net; but none have been confirmed.
Bold Stripe Mack Snows, are a hot new morph being developed by Steve Sykes at Geckos Etc. They seem to be the result of Bold Stripes being bred to Mack Snows, creating Heterozygous specimens. Thus those offspring were bred back together to create the first Bold Stripe Mack Snows. More information will be posted as we learn more about this exciting morph.

Carrot Head
Great Example of a Tremper Albino Carrot HeadA Carrot Head is a Leopard Gecko that hatches with orange coloring on its head and retains it as it grows older. The Carrot Head line was developed by Ron Tremper in 2002. Like the Baldy's, the Carrot Head trait is Line-Bred or Poly Genetic. It is also generally seen in Tremper Albinos

Carrot Tail
This is a good example of a Carrot Tail. Notice the carroting from the base of the tail.
A Carrot Tail is a feature on a Leopard Gecko which appears in the tail. To have a carrot tail, at least 15% of the Leopard Gecko's tail from the base, must be covered in orange. The carrot tail is a Line Bred trait. Meaning, in order to create geckos with more carroting than previous generations, they must be bred to geckos with lots of carroting.
The carrot tail trait has been popping up in many different morphs. It seems to be the most popular is Albey's Tangerine Line and in the RAPTORs. They are also in Murphy Patternless, all of the Tangerine and Hypo morphs, all three albino strains, and are now showing a little bit in the [[Blizzard|Blizzards.

Creamsicle
The Creamsicle is a morph developed by JMG Reptile. A Creamsicle is SHTCT Mack Snow. Its appearance is a white body gecko with orange or yellow blotches on the white. It took JMG Reptile 3 generations of breeding to obtain the appearance and look they were going for. Currently, they are working on getting more of a Carrot Tail on the Creamsicles.

Diablo Blanco
The Diablo Blanco is a combination morph created by Ron Tremper in 2006. The Diablo Blanco morph is a combination of the Blizzard trait and the RAPTORs. Essentially, a Diablo Blanco is a combination of 4 recessive traits, Blizzards, Tremper Albinos, Tremper Eclipse, and Patternless Stripe. The appearance of the Diablo Blancos is a white bodied Leopard Gecko with solid Red Eyes.

Dreamsickle
A Dreamsickle is a combination morph of the Enigma trait, RAPTOR morph, and the Mack Snow morph. The first Dreamsickle debuted on January 15, 2008. It was produced by A&M Geckos. Along with the Dreamsickle, they have named a few other combination morphs, the Nova (RAPTOR Enigma), and the Super Nova (RAPTOR Super Snow Enigma).
In appearance, a Dreamsickle is a white gecko with red eyes. It is unknown how it will look as it grows older.

Eclipse
The word Eclipse refers to an eye trait where the eye is completely covered. There are three different forms in which the Eclipse trait appears. The forms are also unrelated. They are, Mack Super Snows, Tremper Eclipse, and Blizzards.
Mack Super Snows
Notice the solid black eyes on the Mack Super SnowOne of the key traits which makes a Super Snow a Super Snow is the eclipsed eye. In the non albino version, the Mack Super Snows have two solid black eyes, seen to the right. In the albino versions, the Mack Super Snow eyes tend to vary from red to a deep ruby red.
Tremper Eclipse
The RAPTOR Hatchling has solid red eyes. The Tremper Eclipse trait randomly popped up in 2004 when Ron Tremper was producing the APTORs. The Tremper Eclipse is solid black in the non albino variations and red to a ruby red in the albino versions, as seen on the right. From the Tremper Eclipse, Snake Eyes.
Genetically, the Tremper Eclipse trait is recessive. When breeding two Tremper Eclipses, Snake Eyed geckos can be produced as well as Eclipses. If Snake Eyes are bred together, Eclipses can also be produced.
The Tremper Eclipse trait has also been crossed into a few different morphs, creating a few new combination morphs. They have been crossed with the Blizzards, as apart of the Diablo Blancos, crossed with the Super Snows as apart of the Super RAPTORs, and in the RADAR Bells.
Blizzard Eclipse
The Blizzard Eclipse trait also randomly popped up in Blizzard groups. As of right now, there seems to be nothing genetically behind the Blizzard Eclipse. When breeding two Blizzard Eclipses, non Eclipse Blizzards can be produced as well as Snake Eyed Blizzards and Blizzard Eclipses.

Electric
An Electric Leopard Gecko is a line of SHTCT Baldies from Kelli Hammock of Hiss, which expresses varying amounts of orange and red hues. As hatchlings, Electrics will express a wide range of colors. As they grow older, they will show red and orange hues all over their bodies.

Ember
The Ember is a combination morph created by Garrick Demeyer of Crestedgecko.com in 2007. The Ember morph is a combination of the Murphy Patternless trait and the RAPTORs. Essentially, a Ember is a combination of 4 recessive traits, Murphy Patternless, Tremper Albinos, Tremper Eclipse, and Patternless Stripe. The appearance of the Ember is a yellow bodied Leopard Gecko with solid Red Eyes.

Enigma
What is an Enigma
An Enigma is a Leopard Gecko which is a dominate morph. When classifying an Enigma, there are a few common features which all Enigmas seem to have. When they hatch out, their spots tend to be blotches rather than bands. When looking at their tails, the tails are almost all white. As they grow older, the spotting increases and sometimes turns into speckles.
History
The Enigmas are considered a random genetic mutation. In 2006, Mark Bell produced the first Enigma when it randomly hatched out of one of his Leopard Gecko group.
This is a comparision of a Tangerine Enigma and a Mack Snow Tremper Albino Enigma (Baronak).
This is a comparision of a Tangerine Enigma and a Mack Snow Tremper Albino Enigma (Baronak).[edit]Genetics
When speaking the genetics of the Enigma, they are very interesting. As of right now, there has yet to be a proven homozygous version of the Enigmas. As of right now, the Enigma trait is acting as a dominate trait.
Enigma Crosses
Tangerine
Albey from Albey's "Too Cool" Reptiles and Matt Baronak from A&M Geckos have crossed the Enigmas into the Tangerine Lines producing some different looking Tangerines.
Blizzard
Albey Scholl from Albey's "Too Cool" Reptiles has hatched the World's first Tremper Albino Blazing Blizzard Enigma. It can be seen below. With the Tremper Albino Blazing Blizzard, there are two recessive traits in play, Albino and Blizzard, and a dominate trait, Enigma.
Murphy Patternless
The Murphy Patternless Enigma is a combination morph, one dominate trait (Enigma) and one recessive trait are in play (Murphy Patternless). While with the Murphy Patternless Albino Enigmas, there are two recessive traits (Albino and Murphy Patternless) in play and one dominate trait (Enigma). A&M Geckos was the first to produce an Albino Murphy Patternless Enigma on June 27, 2008.
BEE
A couple of breeders have been able to produce BEE's or Eclipse Enigmas. In the BEE's, one dominate trait (Enigma) and one recessive (Eclipse) trait are in play. The result is an Enigma with solid black eyes. Mack Snow Enigmas have been produced with solid black eyes, but the eclipse trait is not in play.
Albino
The expression of the Enigmas is interesting none the less. The eyes of the Bell Albinos tend to be red while the Tremper Albinos have orange colored eyes. Just like the other albinos, the body of the Enigma Albinos do not express black pigments.
Bell
The Bell Enigmas were the original Albino Enigmas. As mentioned above, they do not express black pigments and their eyes are red.
Matt Baronak from A&M Geckos has crossed the Enigma trait into Bell Albino Eublepharis macularius fasciolatus.
Tremper
The Tremper Enigmas were the second type of Albino Enigmas to be produced. Like the Bells, they do not express black pigments either. They also have orange eyes rather than red.
RAPTOR
Currently a few people have been crossing Enigmas and RAPTORs. The results have been incredible! Majority of the Enigma heterozygous for RAPTOR have hatched out which massive amounts of orange coloring on their bodies.
Enigma RAPTORs have been produced by A&M Geckos. They are calling the Enigma RAPTOR, Nova.
Rainwater
On June 24th, 2008, Alberto Cadolini hatched the first Rainwater Albino Enigma.
Mack Snow
The Mack Snow Enigmas are a combination of an Incomplete Dominate trait and a Dominate trait. In appearance, they Mack Snow Enigmas have a white body with blotchy black spots.
Super Snow Enigma
The Super Snow Enigmas have white bodies, solid black eyes, and black speckles on their bodies. The Super Snow Enigmas were first produced by JMG Reptiles in 2007.
Super Snow Albino Enigma
As the name suggest, the Super Snow Albino Enigma is a combination morph of 3 different genetic traits, Super Snow (Incomplete Dominate), any of the three albino strands (Recessive), and the Enigma (Dominate). Debbie Prince from The Gecko Prince hatched the first Super Snow Bell Enigma on February 12, 2008. The pictures first appeared on GeckoForums.net. In appearance, the Super Snow Albino Enigma's will have solid red eyes, with a light pink to white body with random brown to pink speckling.
Matt Baronak and Alberto Cadolini have been able to produce a Super Snow Tremper Albino Enigma.
Nova
A Nova is a combination morph of the Enigma trait and the RAPTOR morph. The first Nova debuted on December 30, 2007 on GeckoForums.net. It was produced by A&M Geckos. Along with the Nova, there are a few other morphs which will come out of the same project; Dreamsickle (Mack Snow RAPTOR Enigma) and the Super Nova (RAPTOR Super Snow Enigma).
Super Nova
A Super Nova currently is considered the Holy Grail of combination morphs. It is a cross between a Super Snow, RAPTOR, and an Enigma. Currently, the closest company to producing a Super Nova is A&M Geckos who have recently produced a Nova and a Dreamsickle.

Jeff and Jeff at JMG Reptile have produced the equivalent of the R.A.P.T.O.R. for the Bell Albino strain; the RADAR.

Gem Snows
Great example of a Gem Snow, (Holler)Gem Snows are one of the four different types of Snows. Gem Snows were originally created by Jim Holler from Reptilian Gems. Just like the other three types of snows, they hatch out with a white body and black bands, seen in the picture to the right. As they grow older, the bands break up.
Gem Snow Genetics
Currently Gem Snows are thought to be Dominate. Test breeding is still being done to prove the Gem Snows Dominate. Some still believe there may be a "Super" or homozygous form of the morph.
Gem Snow Crosses
Currently there are a few different Gem Snow crosses. Jim has been able to successfully cross his Gem Snows into Hypo Lines as well as with Tremper Albinos. He is also working on creating Gem Snow RAPTORs.
Other breeders have crossed Gem Snows with Mack Snows. Like the other three snow lines, when bred to a Mack Snow, a Gem Snow can produce a Super Snow, which leads many to believe Gem Snows are related to Mack Snows, but are not Mack Snows.

Giants
The Giant morph was developed by Ron Tremper in 2000. The Giant morph is thought to be a Co Dominate trait. There are three phases of the Giant morph, Normal, Giant, and Super Giant. The Normals do not express the trait at all. The Giants express the trait and are the heterozygous form. The Super Giants are the homozygous form of the morph and are very large.
Ron Tremper's original Giant, Moose was a Super Giant. He reached a whooping 156 grams. When The Herpetoculture of Leopard Geckos came out, Moose was the largest Leopard Gecko ever. On October 9, 2007, Moose unexpectedly died at age 6 and 154 grams.
Breeding Giants
With the size difference between Super Giants, Giants, and Normals, one would think it would be difficult to breed say a Normal to a Super Giant. Currently, there has been no problems with breeding a Normal to a Super Giant or vise versa.

High Yellow
A High Yellow Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko who shows a vast amount of yellow on their bodies without reduced black spotting. When Leopard Geckos were first introduced into the United States, there were Normals and High Yellows.
Genetically speaking, High Yellows are a line bred trait.

Hyglo
A Hyglo is a Super Hypo Tangerine Tremper Albino pioneered by Alberto Cadolini. Alberto describes the requirement for a Hyglo is the body to be covered in at least 90% Tangerine. It has taken Alberto multiple years of selective breeding to get to the final product.
Hyglo Crosses
Currently Alberto has crossed his Hyglos into the Giants creating Giant Hyglos.

Hyper Melanistic
Hyper Melanistics are Leopard Geckos that display more dark pigmentation (also known as melanin), and therefore have a darker appearance than most other Leopard Geckos. However, Hyper Melanistics are not completely black, if they were, they would be considered Melanistic.
Hyper Melanism is also referred to as Abundism- a form a melanism that involves abundant amounts of dark markings creating a darker appearance.
Because of the varying amounts of melanin, there are varying appearances of Hyper Melanistic Leopard Geckos. Also, because of this there is no set standard other than increased dark pigmentation for what defines a Hyper Melanistic.

Hypomelanistic
Hypomelanistic or Hypo refers to Leopard Geckos which exhibit reduced melamine or black coloring. The general rule for to make a Hypo rather than a High Yellow is 10 or less spots on the back of the gecko. If the gecko has no black and all yellow, it would be considered a Super Hypo.

Jungle
What Defines a Jungle?
A Jungle Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko who's body pattern is irregular. The body pattern usually is not banded, but has different designs on the back. As for the tail, the tail is not banded, but will feature diagonal bands or broken bands.
Jungle Information
The Jungle Morph was developed in 1991 by Ron Tremper. The Jungle Morph is thought to be both Poly Genetic and Recessive. When dealing with the Jungle trait, when not shown physically, the trait usually only last through the first generation.
Genetic Debate of Jungles
Throughout the years many people have thought of the Jungle trait as Line Bred/ Poly Genetic, but recent developments have proven this is not the case in all matters. Many people buy so called Heterozygous Jungle specimens; but fail to ever produce Jungle animals. So in that case it has been that many people consider it an Incomplete Recessive which means that the Jungle morph, works like a recessive trait most of the time but can vary and act as a line bred trait.

Rainwater Albino
Rainwater or Las Vegas Albinos were founded by Tim Rainwater in 1998. When compaired to the other two strains of albinos, Rainwater Albinos tend to have more pink and be lighter overall. When they hatch, they tend to have yellow bodies with pink bands. As a group, Rainwater Albinos are smaller than the other two strains. Rainwaters also have the darkest eyes of the three different types of albinos.

Lavender
Lavender refers to Leopard Geckos who show Lavender coloring. Where the geckos usually have the black coloring, they show a Lavender color. Currently there is 1 proven Lavender line, the Lavender Stripe and Lavender Red Stripe by JMGReptile. This project was started in 2003 by breeding Stripes to Normals who showed promising amounts of Lavender coloration. These made Lavenders Het for Stripe, thus the animals were bred back together to create the first Lavender Stripes! The first Lavender Stripes are to be released Summer of 2008.

Line Bred Snow
Line Bred Snows are Leopard Geckos who have been Line Bred to achieve a Leopard Gecko which is white and black. Line Bred Snows are usually graded on a A-C scale; A being a pure white and black gecko and C being a gecko which shows some yellow.
When breeding two Line Bred Snows together, you will not get Super Snow's. If you were to breed a Mack Snow to a Line Bred Snow, there is a 6.25% chance Super Snows will be hatched.

Mack Snow
Mack Snow Origin
The Mack Snows came from John and Amy Mack from Reptiles by Mack. They came across some hatchlings which looked like "Snow" hatchlings rather than normal hatchlings. The following season, John and Amy bred the hatchlings back to each other. In the breeding, they produced Super Snows, Mack Snows, and Normals.
Mack Snow Classification
There are a few distinct features of Mack Snows which normal Leopard Geckos do not express. As hatchlings, they have white bands instead of yellow bands. See the pictures below for comparison. Most Mack Snows will tend to lose their white as it will fade to yellow as they grow older.
Another key feature of Mack Snows that all the other Leopard Gecko morphs can do is be temperature sexed. Mack Snow Leopard Geckos have not been proven to be temperatured sexed. Normally, they can be termpertured sexed, 80¬8F - 83¬8F majority females will be produced, 84¬8F - 86¬8F, an even mix of males and females will be produced, and 87¬8F - 89¬8F majority males will be produced.
Mack Snows, when bred to Mack Snows, have the ability to produce a Super Snow. The genetics of Super Snows will be discussed in the next section. When they hatch, they seem to have an all purple hue to them. As they grow, the purple fades into a white body with black broken pin stripes. They also have two solid black eyes.
Mack Snow Genetics
When discussing Mack Snow Genetics, they were first to be thought as Co-Dominate. Now after further review, they seem to be Incomplete Dominate. There are three different forms, Super Snows, Mack Snows, and Wild Type. The Super Snows are the homozygous form of the Mack Snow gene. The Mack Snows are the heterozygous form of the Mack Snow gene. The Wild Type do not have the Mack Snow gene and generally look like Normal Leopard Geckos.
There are different results when breeding Mack Snows. Listed below are different possible combinations.

Mack Snow Crosses
Currently many different breeders are working with Mack Snows and crossing them into different morphs and creating new and exciting combinations. For example, Alberto Cadolini from A&M Geckos and Ron Tremper have crossed Mack Snows with R.A.P.T.O.R.'s creating what Ron calls a Super R.A.P.T.O.R. A Super R.A.P.T.O.R. is an all white Leopard Gecko with Red Eyes.
Albey from Albey's "Too Cool" Reptiles has sought to strengthen the Mack Snow line by breeding is Line Bred / Fasciolatius females into his Mack Snows. From this, he has produced Mack Snow / Fasciolatius. When comparing one of his Mack Snow / Fasciolatius to a normal Mack Snow hatchling, the Fasciolatius have longer tails and are bigger has hatchlings.
Kelli Hammack from Hiss has crossed Mack Snows with the new morph developed by Mark Bell, the Enigma. Further more with her Mack Snow Enigmas, she has bred them into her Bell Albinos, creating Red Eye Mack Snow Enigmas.
Paul Sage from Paul Sage Reptiles has crossed his Mack Snows with the Murphy Patternless morph and has crossed Mack Snows with Rainwater Albinos. As hatchlings, the Mack Snow Patternless' look like normal Patternless', but express lots of white pigment instead of yellow. As they grow older, they show more white than a normal Murphy Patternless.
Pat Kline from Luxurious Leopards is working with crossing Mack Snows with Bell Albinos and Blizzards. Currently he has produced Super Snow Bells and Super Snow Blizzards. The Super Snow Bells look like Super Snows, but do not produce black pigment. They have all red eyes and a white body with pinkish stripes. The Super Snow Blizzards look like Blizzards that have a white frost to them. They also have solid black eyes.

Mack Snow Albino
A Mack Snow Albino is a Mack Snow crossed with anyone of the three albino strains.

Mack Snow Blizzard
A Mack Snow Blizzard is a Mack Snow crossed with a Blizzard. Mack Snow Blizzards hatch out looking like Blizzards, but have a frost tint to them. As they grow older, they seem to hold the frost tint. Mack Snow Blizzards have also been bred together to create Super Snow Blizzards.

Mack Snow Patternless
A Mack Snow Patternless is a Mack Snow crossed with a Murphy Patternless. A Mack Snow Patternless hatchling will look like a Murphy Patternless hatchling, but instead of having a yellow body, the body will be white. As the Mack Snow Patternless grows older, the markings will fade. It will look similar to a Murphy Patternless but will hold a white tint to it.

Mack Snow RAPTOR
A Mack Snow RAPTOR is a combination of 4 different genetic traits; the Mack Snow, Tremper Albino, Eclipse, and Patternless Stripe. Essentially, the Mack snow RAPTOR is a combination of the RAPTOR and the Mack Snow.

Melanistic
Melanistic is the name for Leopard Geckos which is all black. Currently, the closest attempts to creating a Melanistic Leopard Gecko are the Black Velvets and the Black Pearls. In 2000, Ron Tremper created a black body Leopard Gecko, but it was lost in an accident.
Due to varying amounts of melamine and different morph types, Melanistics can look quite different in appearance. Melanism itself has not been proven genetic yet in Leopard Geckos, but there our various projects in the works that are meant to prove this.
By definition, a Leopard Gecko which is Melanistic is completely covered in black. There are other species in the wild which are genetically melanistic such as the Eastern Hognose Snake and the Jaguar. A Leopard Gecko which shows excessive amounts of black, but is not 100% black is considered Hyper Melanistic.

Midnight Blizzard
The Midnight Blizzards are a phase of the Blizzard morph. They have yet to be proven genetically. What many breeders have classified as Midnight Blizzards, are Blizzards who have darker coloring than other Blizzards. Some feel the coloring comes from incubation temperatures, others believe the colors come from cage temperature. With Leopard Geckos, the lower the temperatures, the darker their coloring seems to be.

Murphy Patternless
Murphy Patternless Leopard Gecko (Johnson).Founded by Pat Murphy in 1991, the Murphy Patternless is a Leopard Gecko which lacks all pattern. As a hatchling, they will hatch with a lightly colored body with random tan, gray, or brown markings on the body. Close to the age of 10 months, the markings will have completely faded and the geckos body color will be between yellow all the way to a deep purple. Throughout the generations, breeders have been able to incorporate the Carrot Tail into the Murphy Patternless Leopard Geckos. Marcia McGuiness from Golden Gate Geckos has a beautiful group of Murphy Patternless Carrot Tails.
Carrot Tail on a Murphy Patternless (Johnson).Murphy Patternless Genetics
The Murphy Patternless trait is a simple recessive trait. Meaning, if a Murphy Patternless is bred to a Normal Leopard Gecko, all of the hatchlings will be heterozygous for Murphy Patternless. If the hatchlings were to be bred back to each other, there would be a 25% chance of creating Murphy Patternless Leopard Geckos. Of the remaining offspring, there would be a 66.7% chance they would be heterozygous for Murphy Patternless.
Murphy Patternless Crosses
Aside from the Carrot Tail trait in the Murphy Patternless, there are many other crosses available. Shelly at Lizard Lair has crossed Murphy Patternless into her Mack Snow Leopard Geckos creating Mack Snow Murphy Patternless.
Murphy Patternless have also been crossed into Tremper Albinos and Rainwater Albinos. Currently, no one has been able to cross them into the Bell Albino strain. There are a few breeders attempting to do it as we speak.
Another cross is with the Blizzard trait. A true Banana Blizzard is a Murphy Patternless Blizzard. Since there is no real visual way to see if the gecko is both homozygous for Blizzard and Murphy Patternless, test breeding must be done to prove out the Leopard Gecko.

Nieves Tangerine
The Nieves Tangerine were pioneered by David Nieves in the mid 90's. The Nieves Tangerine are Line Bred Tangerines that have a distinct look. They geckos have Tangerine coloring, but their spots seem to be larger than other Tangerines.
Currently it is very hard to find Nieves Tangerines which have not been crossed into other bloodlines. As of right now, Paul Allen from Bright Albino are working with them.

Normal
From Leopard Gecko Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search
Normal Leopard Geckos
Normal Leopard Geckos or Wild Type Leopard Geckos are generally a dull yellow color with a large amount of black spots on them. The tail will be white with black spots on it. Before all of the colorful morphs came about, Normals and High-Yellows were the only morphs available.

Pastel
Mack Pastel History
The Mack Pastels are considered a by-product from the Mack Snows. They first started popping up randomly in colonies when the Mack Snows were released.
Mack Pastel Description
Mack Pastel Tremper Albino. When Mack Pastels hatch, the first colored area after the neck band is white and the body areas are yellowish where they would be white or bright yellow. Please see the picture to the right to see a Mack Pastel Albino.
Mack Pastel Genetics
Alex Hue has proven the Mack Pastels to be Dominate genetically.

Phantom
The Phantom morph is a combination morph developed by The Urban Gecko. In order to create the Phantoms, the first bred their TUG Snows to their SHTCTs. They took the best looking hatchlings from their first generation, F1, and bred them to their Sunglows. The F2, second generation hatchlings, we now Super Hypo TUG Snows het for Tremper Albino. Then the F2's were bred back to each other to create the Phantoms, a Sunglow TUG Snow.
When comparing the Phantoms to other snow combinations such as the Snowglows or Creamsicles, their coloring seems to be more lavender than pink, yellow, or orange.

RADAR Bell
A RADAR Bell is the Bell Albino equivalent of a RAPTOR. The RADAR Bells have either solid red Eclipse eyes or have Snake Eyes. They also have an orange patternless body and are Bell Albinos.
JMG Reptile were the founders of the RADAR Bells, creating them this year, 2007. To put solid red eyes on a Bell Albino, JMG took a het for nothing Eclipse male and bred it to Bell Albino females, producing Normals, het for Eclipse and Bell Albino. Then the hatchlings were bred together to produce the worlds first RADAR Bells.

RAPTOR
Typically RAPTOR Hatchlings look like this (Johnson).RAPTOR stands for Red-eye Albino Patternless Tremper ORange. A RAPTOR is a Red-Eyed Albino gecko with an orange colored body. They were created by Ron Tremper in 2004. Unlike some morphs such as Blizzards or Enigmas which are random mutations, RAPTORs are a combination morph. They are a combination of the Eclipse morph, Patternless morph, and the Tremper Albino morph.
The process in creating RAPTORs has led to the creation of many different morphs. Those morphs include: Reverse Stripes, Carrot Heads, and APTORs.
RAPTOR Crosses
There has been a lot of work recently with the RAPTOR morph in crossing it into other morphs. Currently there are Diablo Blancos (RAPTOR x Blizzard), Mack Snow RAPTOR (RAPTOR x Mack Snow), and Super RAPTORs (RAPTOR x Mack Super Snow).
Ron Tremper was the first to create the Diablo Blanco. As for the other two morphs, many people have been working with them such as Kelli Hammack Hiss, Alberto Cadolini A&M Geckos, and Ron Tremper.

Raining Red Stripe
"The Raining Red Stripes were first produced in late 04' and early 05'. I finally decided on a name for the morph in May of 05'. It is a combination morph, created through several years of crossing Rainwater albinos to redstripes and bold stripes. Essentially the Raining Red Stripe is a red striped Rainwater albino. I consider the genetics to be both recessive and linebred."

Red Stripe
The Red Stripe trait is a line bred trait which gives us a gecko with an orange or yellow body with two red colored stripes outlining a dorsal stripe. The Red Stripe morph can vary from geckos with intense outlines to some with not so much of an outline.
When hatching Red Stripes, they tend to have a brown color where the stripes will be coming in. It takes approximately 6 months for the stripes to fully come in.
Currently, the Red Stripes have been crossed into many different projects. Along with all three strands of Albino, they have been crossed into the RAPTOR's and Enigma's as well.

Reverse Stripe
A Reverse Stripe is a Leopard Gecko who's back pattern consist of a line that starts at the base of the neck ring and runs to the hind legs. The tail looks much like the tail of a Striped Leopard Gecko. Please refer to the picture to the right to see a Reverse Stripe.

Super Hypo Tangerine
Super Hypo Tangerine (Johnson).Super Hypo Tangerine or SHT, is a Leopard Gecko who expresses tangerine coloring on its body with no black spotting.

S.H.T.C.T.
S.H.T.C.T. stands for Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail. For a Leopard Gecko to fall under this category, they must have no body spots and at least a 15% Carrot Tail. They also must have Tangerine in their bodies.

Snake Eyes
Snake Eyes are a variation of the Eclipse morph. In both the Blizzard and Tremper Eclipse form of the trait, Snake Eyes can occur. Snake Eyes are essentially eyes which have some solid pigment in the eyes but are not completely solid.
When sold, Snake Eyes are generally given as a percentage. For example, a Leopard Gecko with a Snake Eye which covers ¾’s of the eye would be marketed as “75% Snake Eye.”
Tremper Eclipse Snake Eyes
When dealing with Snake Eyes in the Tremper Eclipse trait, it is possible to hatch Leopard Geckos with solid Eclipse eyes from two Snake Eyed parents. It is also possible to hatch Leopard Geckos with 1 Snake Eye and 1 Eclipse eye or 2 Snake Eyes.

Snowglow
A Snowglow is a combination morph of 3 traits, the Mack Snow gene, Albino gene (Anyone of the three,Bell, Rainwater, or Tremper), and a SHTCT. The end result is a Mack Snow Sunglow. The desired look of a Snowglow is a white gecko with a light orange/yellow hue to it.
Snowglow Creation
Genetically speaking, it takes approximately 1 to 2 generations to achieve pending on the route. The easiest route to create Snowglows is to breed a Super Snow Albino to a Sunglow. All of the hatchlings will be Mack Snow Albinos with the orange coloring varying. From there, in the future generations, the ones showing the most desirable colors should be bred together.
The slower method would be to breed a Mack Snow to a Sunglow. From there the babies would be 50% Normal het Albino and 50% Mack Snow het Albino. The Mack Snow het Albinos would be bred back to each other. With this combination, there would be a 25% chance of creating a Snowglow.
When comparing the two methods, the second is cheaper to do, but the first is the most efficient way.

Stripe
A Stripe Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko who's body pattern is not on the center of the back, but along the sides. It starts at the neck ring and goes all the way down to the tail. From there, the tail bands are not solid, but broken.

Sunglow
A Sunglow is a SHTCT Albino. They come in all three albino strains. With all of the different geckos available, most Hybinos are referred to as Sunglows too.
When they hatch, Sunglows tend to have lighter body bands than normal albino Leopard Geckos. The body bands will fade over time like a SHTCT hatchling's bands would.

Super Giant
Background
A Super Giant is the homozygous version on the Giant trait. In relation to Giants and Normals, Super Giants are the largest. Currently, the biggest Super Giant, Moose from Ron Tremper, weighed in at 156 grams and 11 3/8 inches from nose to tail tip.
Genetics
The Giant and Super Giant trait is a co dominate morph. This means, there are three different forms of the trait, Normal, Giant, and Super Giant. Normals do not carry the Giant trait. Giants carry one copy of the trait and are heterozygous for Super Giant. Super Giants are homozygous for the trait.
When breeding Giant to Giant, there is a 25% chance of producing Normals, 25% for Super Giants, and 50% for Giants. When breeding Super Giant to Super Giant, there will be 100% Super Giants produced. Normal to Super Giant will produce 100% Giants. Breeding Normal to Giant will produce 50% Giants and 50% Normals.
When figuring out if a hatchling is a Normal, Giant, or Super Giant, the only way to tell is when it is done growing. Super Giants will generally eclipse the 130 gram mark while Giants will go over 100 grams. Just because a Leopard Gecko goes over 100 grams in weight, does not mean it is a Giant. It is important to know the background of the parents.

Super Hypo
A Super Hypo or Super Hypomelanistic Leopard Gecko is a Leopard Gecko which has no black spots on its back.

Super Nova
A Super Nova is a combination morph of the Enigma trait, Super Snow trait and the RAPTOR morph. Currently, there has not been a Super Nova produced. Along with the Super Nova, there are a few other morphs which will come out of the same project; Dreamsickle (Mack Snow RAPTOR Enigma), Black Hole (Mack Snow Eclipse Enigma), and the Nova (RAPTOR Enigma).

Super RAPTOR
A Super RAPTOR is a combination of 4 different genetic traits; the Super Snow, Tremper Albino, Eclipse, and Patternless Stripe. Essentially, the Super RAPTOR is a combination of the RAPTOR and the Super Snow. The appearance of the Super RAPTOR is an all white gecko with ruby red eyes.
When comparing a Super RAPTOR to a Diablo Blanco they are both white Leopard Geckos with ruby red eyes. The only way to tell the two apart is to know the history of the parents.

Super Snow
This is a Mack Super Snow Hatchling.A Super Snow is the homozygous form of a Mack Snow. When Super Snows hatch, they have purple bodies with solid Eclipse eyes. As they grow older, they keep the solid Eclipse eyes, but their bodies turn from purple, to a white body with black broken pin stripes.
Super Snows are not made from just breeding Mack Snow to a Mack Snow. They have also breed produced by breeding a Mack Snow to a Gem Snow, a Mack Snow to a TUG Snow, and by breeding a Mack Snow to a Line-Bred Snow. This has led people to believe in someway or another, all of the Snows are linked together.

Super Snow Albino
A Super Snow Albino is a combination morph of 1 homozygous incomplete dominate morph and a homozygous recessive morph, the Mack Snow and any of the three albino strains. I appearance, the Super Snow Albinos look similar to Super Snows, but with a few color variations. With the Super Snow Albinos, since Albinos cannot produce black pigments, the eyes are usually a very deep red. The bodies also do not have any black coloring. The stripes on the Super Snow Albino's body will generally be light pink to a tan color.

Super Snow Enigma
The Super Snow Enigmas; in appearance, they have white bodies, solid black eyes, and black speckles on their bodies. The Super Snow Enigmas were first produced by JMG Reptiles in 2007. Genetically, the Super Snow Enigmas are a combination of a homozygous incomplete dominate trait Super Snow and a dominate trait Enigma.

Super Snow Patternless
A Super Snow Patternless is a combination morph of a homozygous incomplete dominate morph and a homozygous recessive morph, the Mack Snow (Super Snow) and the Murphy Patternless. When looking at the colors of the Super Snow Patternless, they are relatively white geckos with solid black eyes.

TUG Snow
A TUG Snow or The Urban Gecko Snow, is a Snow line created by Craig Stewart from The Urban Gecko. The TUG Snows come from a selectively bred Wild Caught group. Stewart believes his snows are axanthic, a genetic trait where little to no yellow is produced. The TUG Snows are also a dominate trait.
Many people have wondered if a TUG Snow is bred to a Mack Snow if Super Snows would be produced. A few breeders have in fact created Super Snows from breeding a TUG Snow to a Mack Snow.

Tangelo
The Tangelo is a combination morph developed by Ron Tremper. The traits combined to obtain a Tangelo are SHTCT, a Line Bred trait, and the Tremper Albino, a Recessive trait. In appearance, the Tangelos will have a Tremper Albino eye and will be a deep orange to a red color.

Tangerine
A Tangerine is any Leopard Gecko that shows Tangerine or Orange hues in their body. The Tangerine colors also show up in all three strains of the Albinos. The amount of spots on the back of the Leopard Gecko, the amount of Carrot Tail, and the amount of head spots further breaks the Tangerines into different categories. There are Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tails, Baldys, Tangerines, and Super Hypo Tangerines.

Tangerine Tornado
A Tangerine Tornado is a Tangerine Line developed by Craig Steward from The Urban Gecko. Tangerine Tornado's have a deep red orange coloring. Generally the coloring is more red than other Tangerines.

Texas Albino
Tremper Albino
Tremper Albinos also known as Texas Strain Albinos were the first of the three strains of Albinos to be discovered in 1996 by Ron Tremper. Tremper Albinos can range in colors from dark browns to light yellows, oranges, and pinks. The Tremper Albino eyes tend to be a silver color with red veins.
Since Tremper Albinos were the first strain of Leopard Gecko Albinos to be discovered, they are very common and usually the first strain to be worked with when crossing into other morphs. For example, Ron Tremper has developed the R.A.P.T.O.R. with the Tremper strain. He has now made the Diablo Blancos and is working on Super R.A.P.T.O.R.'s (Super Snow RAPTORs).

Tremper Albino
see Texas Albino

Tremper Blazing Blizzard

Tremper Hybino
A Hybino, also known as a Hypo-Albino, is a combination of the Super Hypo and any one of the three albino strains. Generally Hybinos are described as geckos with an all yellow body and albino colored eyes. When seeking to create Hybinos, it is generally done in the second generation. The first pairings would be an Albino x Super Hypo. The babies would then be breed back to each other. There would then be a 25% chance of making Hybinos in the second generation.

Tremper Mack Snow

Wild Type
Normal Leopard Geckos
Normal Leopard Geckos or Wild Type Leopard Geckos are generally a dull yellow color with a large amount of black spots on them. The tail will be white with black spots on it. Before all of the colorful morphs came about, Normals and High-Yellows were the only morphs available.

What is the point of this duplicative/redundant text? The link is sufficient, although incomplete and lacking updates. Have you produced anything to offer that has been overlooked in the page you have linked to?

I agree, the LGW is very well outdated(I even say that as a Sponsor). But if you could explain the point of this thread, maybe someone could help you?

I am new to gecko breeding and the morphs available....I was just looking for info on thier genetics and how the various varieties are produced. http://www.leopardgeckowiki.com/ is a good site for finding alot of information. Most of the rest of the sites out there only have info on a few morphs. Even The Global Gecko Association (GGA) ( http://www.gekkota.com/ ) has scattered info. There needs to be a breed registry so that we (all Enthusiast) might be fully educated. just looking for uniformity in a ununiform world.
Sorry for the confussion.
