The one copy and two copy relates to the Enigma trait in dreamsickles.

Let me try to relate it to Mack snows. If you have one copy, its just a snow, if you have two copies it's a super snow. However with Enigmas there is no determined difference in one copy or two copy, there is no super enigma. The only difference it would make is if you were breeding it.

If you bred a two copy enigma to a normal you will get 100% enigma (one copy). If you bred a one copy enigma to a normal statistically you should get 50% enigma.

Hope this helps, once you understand it, it makes sense. It is just hard to grasp and explain at first.

Generally speaking, the terms "1 & 2 copies" show if the individual is heterozigous (1 copy) or homozigous (2 copies) in respect of some trait (allele of a gene).

Dreamsicles are heterozigous (1 copy) for Mack Snow and (probably) Enigma trait.

I am not quite sure about the satement of Hankj regarding the Enigmas: have they already been proved to exist in a homozigous version of the allele (as I know the homozygous specimens are suspected to die as embryos)?

I have read that putting enigma x enigma tends to make babies of stronger effect syndrome, do they die more often? We need someone to map out the Leo Gecko genetic code so we can find out for sure :)

I actually have 2 enigmas from both enigma parents. Both of them are fine. I think it all depends on how bad the syndrome is on the parents.

1 copy means that it has one copy of the gene. A 1 copy Hypo would have one Hypo gene and one Normal gene. A 1 copy Enigma would have one Enigma gene and one Normal gene. 1 copy is heterozygous, 2 copies is homozygous.

The fact that both parents are Enigmas does not necessarily mean that those babies are homozigous for the Enigma gene. How many babies did you produce from these parents and was there any not Enigma hatchling amongst them?
