Thanks for the info and that really looks great. I have tile down and I think I like the look of the sand mat better.

My ladies both go in the same spot but it just happens to be on top of their large magnetic hide. But with them getting bigger they sometimes miss and it falls off the hide onto the floor.

I just ordered an 11 x 11 mat to try in the area that my tile don't cover due to putting my ladies in a longer new terrarium.

I can see the value in paper towels but the terrarium is the main focus point in the living room so I want it to look nice.

My only concern with those would be the same as with reptile carpet. How sanitary is it and how well does it clean up. Other than that, it looks ok to use. I think tile and paper towels are best most of the time though. You can even get tile that looks more like sand.

I understand wanting it to look good but first and foremost is the health of your gecko. I have mine in the living room also but I use paper towels. Clean up is so much easier. But I guess if you can keep it clean, it's cool. [emoji4]

I have seen no issue with using this role of sand carpet. It cleans fine from weekly scrubbing with soap and water. Using it with some neat rock work I think your terrarium would look really cool in your living room.

Hello!

I use the Exo-Terra Sand Mat for my female leopard gecko and it works and looks great. Like Cowana said just make sure to wash it when you first get it and clean it as as often as possible to make sure there are no parasites, mites, or other pests living in the mat...
For the few months I've had the mat I've had no problems with my leopard gecko ingesting anything, although some of the rocks do sometimes become detached from the main mat. This is not a big concern and I just remove those before my leo has the chance of ingesting them.
Hope you like the mat!
