Shed stuck to eye

Yesterday evening I took in a Leopard Gecko that is 3 years old. He has shed stuck on his eye from his last shed. The owner gave me ointment for his eye since this had occurred before. I applied the ointment this morning with a moist q-tip so that I could be sure nothing bad got onto his eye from my finger tip or from the tip of the ointment applicator. I also re-done his humid hide this morning with fresh moss and soaked it in water so that maybe that would help with the shed stuck to his eye. I see him licking it every now and then. Is there anything else I can do to help him? I am trying to let him get use to me before I try and handle him as to not stress him any further.

Any tips would be great!

Thanks,
Emlee

Thanks I'll try that. I have a moist humid hide and he hates it. He stays in his cool hide most of the time. Are the saline drops just the regular kind or do I need a special kind for reptiles?

Ok so Surs eye isn't looking any better. His previous owner said the ointment would heal his eye right up. I've put the ointment on it two times daily (even though he HATES it) I've been keeping the eye clean and moist it with a wet q-tip every few hours and putting the saline solution on it in the morning and evening (or when he will let me). I really don't want my sweet guy to loose an eye. I'm going to get him to a vet soon. Just trying to figure out how to help him more until then.

Here's a picture I got of it today.

Anyone ever dealt with something like this?
