Is this safe for a tub?

Would this be safe if I were to use it to heat up a plastic tub? It says self-adhesive, and I don't want to stick it on if it will melt the plastic, so will it be okay to use if the little sticker thing is still on the pad?

You shouldn't have any problems. Rack systems all come with plastic tubs. Just keep an eye on it to make sure you don't run the temperature too high.

I'm not getting a rack, but I found a really nice tub in my basement. I got the dimensions and it was 11.67 Gallons, so I was going to use that. It's just a plastic tub like the ones in the racks.

So it's okay if I stick it on? I just don't want to burn the tub or the wood dresser it's going to be on.

i use those heat mats with out a problem but dont peel the paper on the back and stick it on or you will ruin it

Make sure you have a thermostat or rheostat because I had an exo terra and liked it BUT it got REALLY HOT on it's own I'm talking about 115-120 degrees easily. I don't remember if it was the heat wave or the rainforest one.

So if I buy the desert one, will I absolutly need to get a thermostat?

You should get one no matter which you get. That or a dimmer and use a digital thermometer to moderate the temps.

What could I do if I can't find a thermostat? I'm sure I can get one, but you never know.

get a lamp dimmer, they aren't perfect, but usable.
