wow thats pretty nice actually. But reading through the forums I can see why you'd use tile and why others would use slate. Slat just has a more natural look to it besides being good with heat. I'm new to the leo world. Most of my experience has been with forest dwelling reps then desert. But maybe the slat does a better job with the heat but the tile is definitely easier to clean. But I never see a post of mixing the two.

Has anyone mixed the two? And how does that work out? Thats what I want to know.

I have a piece of slate from my shower and was gonna use it. I don't care if it's a different color but I do t know for sure if slate is writer with heat than ceramic.

Thanks for the nice words. Let me know of u know for sure that slate works better with UTH. The slate tile I save seems thicker than the ceramic tile so I only assumed it would take more heat to penetrate.

I would say slate tile for sure. it is easy to spot clean and evenly distributes heat. :main_thumbsup:

I use a rocky soil mixed with a little sand and Eco Earth in her humid hide.
Just out of curiosity, Does the sand serve any purpose mixed with your eco earth?

Nevermind. I misread.

I've been using paper towels but these guys romp and stomp and within 2 hours its all balled up and they are just laying in their tubs. LOL. I think I'm gonna try Travis's idea of the shelf paper!
