I hope I'm posting in the right area! I just got my new gecko finally after much research. I have a few questions that I couldn't find the answers to during research so thought I'd ask here.

1: He was listed as an albino fancy leopard gecko. So I'd like to ask those of you who've owned geckos what is the exact coloration he is. He's pink with a very slight yellow tint on his back with black eyes. Kinda blue when you look at him from above.

2: How old could be possibly be? He's 6 inches from nose to tail and obviously male.

3: Mini meal worms? Good or bad? I was told just to feed him crickets but I have some leftovered 1.4 inch long meal worms that my bearded dragon doesn't want to eat. I bought small crickets for my gecko just in case.

4: Under the tank heating pad or red night light? I read you can use one or the other but which is better for heat? I read they don't like light and the red or blue light doesn't bother them. Right now I'm using the red heat light but am willing to change to whatever is better.

5: Would it be okay to take him to the pet store with me or would it scare him?

6: How can I tell if he's stress out? I read a lot about stress but it never mentioned what to look for.

Welcome to GF and congrats on your new gecko. I'll try to answer your questions:
1. He looks to me to be a Murphys patternless leopard gecko. Google image search and you'll see others. I'm not such an expert in Murphys patternless and can't tell if he's an albino or not. Where did you get him?

2. Given that I can see from the side view that he's male, I would guess he's at least 4 months old but I have no way of knowing

3. Mini mealworms are fine if he'll eat them. Some leos find them too small to bother with

4. Under tank heater is best. The jury seems to be out as to whether they can see the red light or not. You may need a thermostat with the UTH to keep it from getting too hot.

5-6. I don't think leos do so well going on excursions (as opposed to bearded dragons for instance). Sometimes they show stress and sometimes not. Babies scream. Older ones may just close their eyes, and it's more of a long term thing and could include not eating or having trouble shedding (which doesn't mean that every time one of those things happens they're stressed out).

Hope this was of assistance.

I got him at a pet store since they were keeping him on astroturf. The other pet store was keeping tiny babies on sand.
