Would it be bad to have my UTH under a hide next to the food and calcium dishes if it overlaps a bit? I'm just wondering how you guys keep your setups and if this would be ok.

Here's what I was thinking about doing.

This is literally the exact same setup I use minus the food dish, I feed crickets. I don't think it would cause any issues, but I think mealworms or superwomen will turn into a beetle if kept warm, so keep in mind.

Ok, thank you! I think I'll keep the calcium dish more towards the UTH since I don't think it would hurt the calcium to be by heat.

That's definitely a great set up! I have to agree with Matt_pole - the closer the worms are to the heater, the faster they turn into beetles. I've had issues with this in the past. You think your gecko ate all the worms, until a few days later you find beetles hiding in a corner of their hides. I put food, calcium & water all on the cool side (I have a 20gal, long). It can be rough in a 10gal because of the lack of space, but I think you could make it work ;)

I'm finding that the hides are too big for the 10g. xD I'll make things work out, even if he only has 2 hides. The mealworms already turn to pupae on a nightly basis because the room temperature is 81F and 89-91F for the warm side. Thank you for your suggestions, though. :)

No problem! I'd also def suggest upgrading to a 20gal, long tank if you have some spare cash.. I started with the 10gal years ago, but ran into the same issue - hides just don't fit. My girl loves the 20gal & def utilizes all the space, so I'd say it's totally worth it. Also, you can get creative with hides & other decor ;) Just a thought!
