I bought some plants from eBay. Turns out the seller uses some sort of pesticide or insecticide. (Unsure of the difference?) Is there a way to wash it out or should I just wait?

You could always do a bleach dip then leave to air dry in a well-ventilated place for 48 hrs

I would just spray the leaves (with normal tap water) every other day for about a month. After that I don't think you will have any issues.
