What type tape to attach probe over UTH?

I finally received my UTH and have taped it underneath my tank. I want to attach the thermostat probe on top of the glass inside the tank under the reptile carpet. Can I use duck tape or electrical tape or will it melt? The instructions that came with my thermostat said not to use foil tape because it would cause incorrect readings. Please advise so I can get my UTH ready to go.

Thanks, Debbie

According to the fact that you want to use tape to make thermostat probe stay in place, your tape cannot melt, or at last it should not in regular gecko terrarium. UTH can get pretty hot (depends on type, brand, watts etc.), but when you use thermostat for it, it will never get much hotter than your set temperature (depends on thermostat quality, temperatures outside of vivarium ...). Even temps about 105 F (40,5 C) should not melt any good tape, I would use electrical tape.

Thank you very much! I have electrical tape here so can proceed with my setup.
