Hey Guys,

I would like to ask you guys for your opinion on something. Recently I purchased a vision rack, but a problem I have been experiencing with it is that it is not holding heat very well. I have tried 3 different thermostats including one I was using successfully with my hatching rack, it wont go any higher than 81-82 degrees, and fluctuates between 80 - 82 degrees. Has anyone had a similar experience? I must say I am kind of disheartened by this, I paid over 400$ for a rack that cant even hold heat.

Any Help/Opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I've moved your post to the proper forum, thanks for noting that. I have no experience with the vision rack, but I would do the following:
check the temp with no thermostat (give it at least 3-4 days to stabilize; some of my UTH's take that long)

get someone to check the heater with a watt meter. This should tell you how many watts the heater is putting out. (my husband is an engineer ). Compare it with the watt amount listed on the package (if there's no package, contact vision racks and ask them). If it's off by 1 or 2 that's not an issue, but if it's grossly different, that could be a problem.

If the heater isn't getting hot enough without the thermostat, and/or if the watt output is wrong, you may have a defective product. Contact Vision Racks.

If everything is fine, then possibly you need to turn the thermostat to a higher temp than you were expecting to get the proper temperature (this happens all the time with one of my incubators).
