Cold Side Heating

So I am going to get a leopard gecko soon, and I have a question on heating the cold side of the terrarium. I have read that the temperature of the cold side should be around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. The issue is that my room temperature is probably lower than that. What is the best way to maintain a temperature of 75-80 degrees on the cold side of the tank?

75-80 is a little high, IMO. I prefer 70-75. If it gets lower than 65, you can use a low wattage ceramic heat bulb.

The most important thing is to have a UTH that is regulated to provide a warm side floor temperature of 90.

I agree - I leave my cold side cold at room temperature. My basement sometimes gets down to 65 and the geckos just stay more on the warm side. I don't try to heat up the whole enclosure as I've found it is often overkill and does more harm than good by making them too hot and dry.

What wattage heat emitter do you think would be appropriate for a 10 gallon tank if the resting room temperature is about 65-68 degrees Fahrenheit and I wanted to get the cold side temp up to 70-75 degrees?
