Under tank heater question

So I have an under tank heater for my 10 gallon tank, it works great, I have no complaints about it, but its time to clean my leo's tank. I'm assuming I can't get the uth wet? And if I can't, I have to take it off in order to wash it, but if I take it off, how will I get it to stick again? Reviews on my uth's brand say once it becomes unstuck, its hard to get it to stick again... Help???

Yeah, best not to remove it. Is there a reason you need to? Only the inside of the tank needs to be cleaned, and you don't necessarily need to wash it under a tap or anything.

When I disinfect, I first remove all of the solid matter (poops and escaped mealies, etc). Then I spray some water into the tank and wipe it clean with a paper towel/cloth. Then I spray some isopropyl alcohol in there and leave it for about 5 minutes or so. Then I wipe all of it out with a clean cloth and wait a few minutes until it doesn't smell like alcohol anymore.
