Building a Viv Need help

Ok i am thinking about building a new viv for my leo's with the left over melamine that i have left over from building my Beardie Viv's. I have them in a 52 Gal Aquarium at the moment and am using UTH's what i am trying to figure out is will the UTH be ok if i put them in the new viv under the slate tile, i am just worried about the Melamine heating up. Any input would be appreciated.

what i did for my beardies tanks is cut out the size of the uth and place 2 tiles on top of it if crickets start to escape use good ole duct tape. in strips and press it in around the edges and its worked good so far. But reading the post again i used medium density board for the cages. monteq's idea is pretty sweet too i liked that raised floor dude!
