Well since I got my little gecko I've been wanting to make something nice for his 65 gallon tank. (He almost has TOO much space.) So today I began work on a mini simple background. Here it is.

Still have Grouting, painting and sealing left to do. I'll be updating as I go along!

Be sure to let me know where you got your grout, and if you don't mind the price.
I've been looking around to find some good (inexpensive) grout to use.
Thanks,
Hayden

Thanks for the comments everyone! So far I still don't have any grout, my dad is getting me some from his work however I don't know what brand they use or how much. It's Non-sanded ceramic grout.
Antibus -- That looks sweet!! I'm hoping mine will turn out that well.

Okay! Well I got the grout yesterday, Turns out it's ceramic grade sanded grout, however it's amazingly smooth so I'm not worried about that or anything.

Here's the pics of when I first started grouting,

Then after a few hours of endless standing and going over the same spot again and again.., It's still wet so gotta wait to seal it.

After I get it sealed and maybe painted I'll get a few pics of it in my Leo's tank.

okay so I have shown what I started with, The beginning and end of grouting so now almost the end! I have to wait to let it air out for a few more days then I'll get some pictures of it in the tank.

It looks great so far!! Please keep us posted. I've always wanted to make one but how do you clean it? I know you take it out of the tank when it's time to clean it but shouldn't it be disinfected periodically? :main_yes:

I'm thinking I'll take a damp rag with water/cleaner solution, and basically wipe it down with that then again with just a damp rag. Leave it out over night to avoid fumes etc. If worse comes to worse and the water messes it up, I'll just make a new one.
