Thread: living plants in a terrarium, what plants are good?

Hello everyone im looking to put in some live plants with my bearded dragons and possibly my fat tailed gecko. Im wondering what are some good safe plants that will fit in and survive with my animals and will not harm them in any way, (if they are poisonus to the lizards or anything). So if anyone has any suggestions that would be great thanks!

For my fat tail geckos I have jade plants and haworthia (looks like an aloe but with rough rather than smooth leaves; not rough enough to hurt the geckos). I also have a dracaena plant and would have an African violet but the last 2 I put in got eaten by the crickets.

I would hesitate to put plants in with the beardie because the adults, at least, tend to lumber around and could crush a plant. Maybe, if anything, I'd put in a really big bromiliad.

I don't know scientific names of any of my plants, so if you want to see what they look like, just copy and paste into google images.

If you're still looking for plants, I would reconsider putting plants in with beardies lol They will eat any vegitation, and at the very least will crush it, so it's not even worth it. You can try looking for some nice fake succulent plants, which you can find on ebay for not very much money.
