I use the ground and compressed coconut fiberfor my adults. It holds moisture really well and the geckos seem to love it. i do use paper towels for the hatchlings at first.

We use paper towels in some and some coco fiber or vermiculite in lay boxes (we've been subbing this in for the one since she's been laying eggs and both won't fit)

I use moss cos they seem to like it and i use enough paper towels as it is for cleaning up poops and stuff.

Not had any problems with it yet...well unless some of it ends up down the sink. Then it smells like a swamp in the drainpipe for about a week. Yup ive been told off quite a few times for that :p

i use the moss here. Btw what do you guys use for a moist hide? i know many people, including me just use old tupperware and stuff but it seems like such an eyesore and it throws off the whole look of the terrarium. Anyone got a cheaper alternative? Or am i doomed to always use a land-o-lakes container....

I am currently using coco fiber, but I tried New Zealand sphagnum moss in one of my males hides that did not like coco fiber and he loves it. The moss holds the moisture better and he does not have any toe shed stuck on him like he did when I was using the coco fiber.

Cheap, commercially available, and gets the job done.

I used to use paper towels but I thought I would try something different because i don't think that it made it humid, so I bought some sphagnum moss. My Leo doesn't even touch the stuff.
