Just curious but after hearing some arguments on the 10-20 gallon debate, I'd like to know more on the topic.

Do you use tanks or tubs?

What size setup do you have?

How many leos do you keep together (if at all)?

What is you opinion on the topic of 10 gallon v.s. 20 gallon?

Can you show pictures of your 10 gallon?

How do you maintain a "proper" temperature gradient?

Do you use a lamp for your 10 gallon?

Please keep it civil, express your opinions and don't bash others opinions.

I house my one adult male in this 10 gal. alone. It has great gradient of 76 on the left side (cool) and 90 on the right (hot) with an ambient temp of 83 (i do this by making micro climates in the hides) and multiple levels of space. Its not in the picture but at the very top of the multi level hide sits his moist hide which was being cleaned when i took the picture. I use a heat pad on the hot side. My view on the 10 v.s 20 gal. is that either or is fine its just personal prefference and keeping in mind how much stress it will cause your leo. If you keep them in 20s more power to ya, but keeping them in 10s will not cause health problems and they are perfectly happy in them.

Nice setup an in-between of simple and complex. My opinion is actually 10 gallon for 1 is fine but if you choose to go bigger thats good to.

This is Sorrow89's opinion
There is nothing nice about that boys tank, lol That is sad that a pet will live all it's life in a tiny crappy tank like that.

Low budget thermometer- he's probably making the temps up and if not the cool side will get too hot or during the winter the air temp will be too cold and watch his gecko stop eating or something. He likes to talk a lot of bull because he pm me a few times acting ignorant showing me he is full of it. I just ignored him because I am a grown as man. There is a bunch of kids on this forum that think they know it all, but yet they are always having problems with their geckos.

I only have one leo in a 20gal L but I had him in a 10gal when I first received him. I was having trouble with the heat gradient so went ahead and switched him over. Was going to anyway when he got a little older but his age probably helped him transition to the new tank well. When I was using the 10gal Cesar suggested the layers that he uses so I'm still going to put those in the 20gal. I want to try it in the 10gal because I already want another leo, lol. My opinion is if there's ample room, you can get the proper gradient, and the animal isn't stressed then a 10gal is no issue.

Dennis would you say your geckos in racks are healthy or healthier than the ones in tanks and vice versa?

reason why I ask is if people say 10 gallon is no good, how about a tub? I personally think tubs/tanks are no different and that each gecko can/is healthy in either one with good care.
NOT being offensive.

I prefer a 15 gallon. A 10 gallon works fine but with a 15 you can fit an extra hide and more terrarium items just my preference.

I started off keeping my geckos in ten gallon aquariums. It is expensive to say the least, and I found monitoring all those UTH stressful and dangerous.
I built my own rack system, and only have to monitor one piece of heat cable, and only need one therm and one stat.
I think my geckos feel more secure in their bins. I had one bell in particular that would only deficate in his hide. In his tub he feels secure enough to use a corner.

Ten gallons are not too small. They just arent as economical as tubs. 20's are overkill IMO
