trank.jpg hey guys, so here is the layout of my tank its a 10 gallon tank. as of now this is all i got, im pretty sure he is got everything he needs to last him awhile if not his life. i use coconut fiber chips for bedding i haven't once seen him eat any while he is hunting crickets in his cage. (i watch him a lot since he is right next to my computer, which im at a lot) but i digress, as you can see he has 2 hides. i consider the rock his main and the log thingy a half hide and with the cut up tuperware a half a hide too. also he has a 50 watt heater lamp along with another lamp to provide 12 hours of day light. there is also a undertank heater, its the zoo med forest heating one instead of the desert style one (idk the difference) still with me guys? thats everything.. oh and digital thermometer that i have spaced right in the middle to regulate both sides...sorta lol...im hoping some will read this and let me know what i should upgrade too or if this will be fine.

thanks for reading!

It generally looks promising with the following modifications to consider:
--I do worry about the fiber chips on the floor. I cared for a gecko once that had dropped its tail because it ate some walnut shell pieces from the bottom of the tank and probably dropped the tail because of the pain of passing them. If you want a flooring that's not smooth like paper towel or ceramic tile, consider coco fiber that's ground fine enough to look like dirt. If the gecko is a baby it shouldn't be on any type of particle substrate.

--some people are going to tell you that a 10 gallon tank is too small to provide an adequate heat gradient but I think it's OK. It certainly wouldn't hurt to get a 20 gallon tank at some point if you can

--The best place to put the digital thermometer probe is on the floor on the hot side so you know the floor temperature where the gecko will get its belly heat

--The water bowl is fine, but you would be equally fine with a smaller one and then the gecko would have more space to walk around in

How's that?
