So I heard a myth from a friend that there is some kind of bug that is perfect for a reptile terrarium. Apparently it just about only eats lizard poo and is an amazing source of protein somehow(not sure that is possible on that diet). All you need to do is throw a couple dozen in and your gecko will have food ant the poop is cleaned with little to no extra maintenance. Is this just a myth or can i get some of these?

There are bugs that eat poo (dermastid beetles, isopods, springtails) and there are bugs that can live in the cage and geckos can eat. Many people discourage keeping feeder size bugs in the cage because they're worried that the bugs will feed on the geckos. I leave grain for the bugs so they won't eat the geckos. I think you're looking for a magic "don't have to do much to care for the gecko" solution and I can tell you that you're not going to find it.

It really depends on the characteristics of your terrarium. I have several species of isopod that could fit this description but they need a rather moist terrarium and places to hide. They don't last long in with my leos because they get hunted down or dry out. Now in My day gecko enclosure they last much longer and will eat poop. I fell it is kind of mean though because in a way I am getting the lizards to eat their own shit via the isopods as a proxy.
