Dying mealworms

My mealworms weren't multiplying fast enough, so I purchased some through the mail. They seemed healthy at first, but now they're dying and emitting moisture. I have a load of black, yucky worms and stuck-together bedding. I tried once cleaning the container, culling the dead worms, and putting in new bedding, but the same thing happened again. Should I just throw out the whole mess of worms or can the apparently healthy ones still be saved? Help!

what is the bedding you are using? And the container they are in? Is there air flow? I recently saved a container of meal worms by leaving the lid off to air out for the night after I noticed condensation on the inside of the lid. I also keep shallow bedding, and change it more often. Also, are you keeping them in the fridge or no?

Thanks for your reply!

I use Flukers mealworm bedding. Have a giant container of it which is kept in the fridge. The mealworm container is actually the container that Enzo was sent to me in. It's worked for me for years, until this last bunch of mealworms I purchased online. I'd be afraid to keep the lid off for fear the worms would escape. Maybe there were just too many of them (I purchased 500). My major question right now is: do I try to save the ones that look okay now, or could they already be sick? Should I just get rid of the whole mess and start over with new worms?
