I got my first leopard gecko last week! He's a 1 1/2 month old Mack Snow Jungle, from Reptiles by Mack. I named him Angus. 
The paper they sent with him stated he eats small mealworms and 3/8" crickets. I knew that he may not eat much (or at all) when I first got him, so I wasn't too worried when he ignored the few crickets and bowl of mealworms I put in his tank the first couple days.
Now he pigs out on crickets. I've seen varying amounts of what to give him, from 5-6 all the way up to 14-16 crickets. He's eaten the latter for the most part each night for the last few days. He's never regurgitated any of it, but it still feels like it's too much? Honestly, I don't know where he crams them all in his tiny self. He's a very energetic hunter, though, and pretty much has them all in under 10-15 minutes!
He completely ignores any mealworms I put in for him, though. I've even tried switching from a brown ceramic dish to a plastic petri dish in case he simply couldn't see them, but still nothing. I typically put in 10 mealworms in the dish to keep track as to whether he eats them or not.
Should I try harder to get him to eat mealworms or are the dusted crickets good enough? Am I feeding him too much or should I continue to try and keep the mealworms in his bowl in case he decides to munch on them? He's gained 2g since last Friday, if that's needed info.
