Gecko cannot eat food. Need help

Hello, I've been taking care of my two geckos for roughly three years now, and I've come upon an issue with one of my geckos. My gecko has a lot of trouble eating, and not in the sense that he doesn't want to eat, but rather that he just can't pick up his food. I can tell he definitely wants to eat, as I often hangs around the food bowl, but after he has tried darting his head into the bowl but can't eat any worms, he gives up and leaves. I've posted here before seeking help, and so far the options I've tried to fix this include: spraying the geckos with mist daily, using smaller worms, and using wax worms to entice them to eat more. However, none of these methods have worked. This issue is only prevalent with one of my geckos, as you can see from the pictures, his tail is much smaller than his sibling. I'm getting very worried about his health and would appreciate any feedback that any of you would be able to provide.

They do both look to be in reasonable health to me. Are you feeding them mealworms or super worms? If you're feeding mealworms, you may want to look into super worms which are larger in diameter and may be easier to pick up. You could even try crickets or roaches if you can stand to do that. Otherwise, you may be stuck hand feeding. If you do hand feed, is the gecko able to crunch up the worm? I ask to make sure there is no issue with MBD due to lack of calcium. Presumably you're supplementing with calcium and vitamin D3. Let us know if this helps.

I have tried feeding them both large and smaller worms but it hasn't seemed to make a difference. I've also tried hand-feeding them, but they simply won't eat when I hold out the food in front of them. I could try feeding them crickets and roaches, though, so I suppose I might try that.

Im not super knowledgeable but have you tried mashing up meal worms into a mush touching his lips so he can give it a taste and see if that works? It's an idea maybe it could work? I have a friend who has a reptile that will hand feed only so I thought this idea could help you. Wish you the best with this.
