Mealworms or Crickets?

I use mainly Crickets (and attempting to make my own colony cause my Leos eat like pigs!) and I give them mealworms and wax worms from time to time. I havent tried superworms yet. We dont have anything around here that sells the dubias, or silk worms, or anything else that i am aware of. (I dont know if I could do the Dubias to be honest, I HATE ROACHES and they freak me out...lol)

also, I get my crickets from a popular petstore (not sure if we are allowed to post store names or not..lol) but they said that their crickets are parasite free (ofsorse any store might say that to sell them though)

Parasite free maybe true, but what type of crickets because I have heard of people getting some different types that can be extremely dangerous. I will attach a link that is one of the main reasons I will not feed crickets anymore

Mealworms during winter but I add crickets when it is warm outside so I can keep them on the balcony.
I also give them a superworm every now and then, the supers are a bit big but I try to pick smaller ones, and I often cut off their heads before feeding them to the geckos (I know that ''eating geckos from the inside out'' is just a myth but eh, I think they enjoy them more without their heads anyway), or cut them in half. My girls will eat anything I give them really.

Anne has been running solid on only mealworms. Crickets maybe once every 3-4 months.

I feed my geckos crickets because it's more entertaining for me. I was giving them meal worms but I recently made the mistake of giving them wax worms as a treat and now regular meal worms aren't good enough. They can't resist the crickets though, and watching them dive around their respective enclosures to try and catch them is about as amusing as a leopard gecko can get. Owen however is still refusing food.

I use mealies as a staple for now but I just ordered a thousand dubias so that will be my other staple.They do get crickets now and again as a change of pace and for something to chase around.

i feed crickets to my geckos as mealworms make my gecko color, particularly sunglow, dull and pale. do mealworms affect gecko color?

I'd better feed crickets to enhance a leo's hunting skills. If i were to feed mealworms then i might as well feed them superworms.

Yes and yes! It's not a matter of crickets OR mealworms, it should always be crickets AND mealworms AND...
We know these geckos are not like pandas, specialized to eat just one food species. So if the goal is to replicate their natural habitats to the best of our abilities then a varied diet is just as natural and healthy as a proper temperature gradient, or access to proper areas of humidity, etc.

Mine get crickets, superworms (I never use mealworms, personally), roaches, butterworms, baby hornworms, silkworms, and small grasshoppers.

I have crickets and mealworms, mealworms are my main food source barely started using crickets, they smell so badly but keep them in a container nd it doesnt smell the room up. But I use mealworms as a staple diet he loves them and when I started the crickets he is slowly starting to not eat as much mealworms as he did. I usually feed him 8 items a mix of crickets nd mealworms he is now 4 months on the 26th and 30 grams seems healthy.

So that's what they were! I got a few of these in my batch of crickets and I chose to feed them to the chickens instead since they were so different from the normal two-three week old house crickets I normally get. Glad I didn't leave them in the enclosure!

Between those two? Mealsworms. If I had my choice? Dubias. But I am biased since I sell them at my website at discountdubias.com.
Honestly, it is good to mix it up and try a few different food source. I've just found that nutritionally dubias beat out the low end of the feeder market and price-wise they take out the high end.
