i want to feed my crickets fruit/ veggies as reccommended but these crickets stink enough as it is!! i could not imagine adding rotting fruit and veggie matter to the mix ::vomit:::sick: so i was wondering if i got unsweeted dried/ dehydrated fruit would it work the same?? i can get it in bulk at the supermarket and figured it will do the job without the mess. any tips/ suggestions/ words of wisdom are welcome!

Fresh fruits/veggies should be changed out daily to prevent rotting/molding. But dried ones should work too. A lot of dry gutloads have dried fruits and veggies in them.

I just use a 10 grain mix from Fred Meyer's and lettuce for moisture. They seem to love it, and are very fat when I go to feed them off.

Is lettuce good for mealies too? I've been using carrots so far. (And removing the bits daily.)

Its not bad, but it has no nutritional value so shouldn't be their only food ;)

Along with other things to provide moisture is good though
