Hey, I was wondering if I should get both the repcal herpivite supplement AND the repcal calcium with D3.
I was goin to dust the worms with the D3 and keep the herpivite supplement in a bowl in the cage. Does that sound right?

Thanks!

No that sounds wrong. You can ger repashy leo multi vit which has D3 and all the suppliments you need to dust 1-2x a week,

It says calcium plus but read the ingredients:
trex_lg_calciumplus.jpg

THEN you want a plain calcium with out D3 to keep in the tank 24/7.

Pros please let me know if this is wrong.

Isn't that the same thing? A multivitamin in the cage without D3 and dusting with calcium that has D3.... That is exactly what the repcal is.

No, you have it backwards... you keep the PURE CALCIUM with out D3 in teh tank 24/7, and you dust with the multi vit. (which should have a D3 suppliment in it, check your ingredients) weekly depending on the stage of development and physical condition of your gecko.

If you're using Repcal THIS is the one you dust weekly with:
repcal-herptivite.jpg

This is the one you leave in the tank 24/7:

and it honestly doesn't sound like you're using the repcal products properly. Are you making a premix then dusting your feeders? I think you need to read their website which explains their products completely.

http://www.repcal.com/supp.htm#Herptivite

There are a ton of threads on suppliments... ya might want to get into those too.

Does this mean I need 3 different supplements? I was only going to get the rep-cal calcium without D3 and leave it in the tank. And then I was going to dust with the rep-cal calcium with D3.

Well that would work if all you needed was calcium but neither rep-cal products you mentioned is a multi vit. they're both calcium. I suggest going with the repashy calcium plus and a regular plain calcium as the rep-cal products require precise premixing and honestly hon I don't think you're gonna be able to handle that properly. You can get just as many issues with too many suppliments as not enough. What have you been doing for the leo you already have as far as suppliments? If you go with rep-cal products you would need all 3, calcium with D3, calcium with out D3, and the multi vit.

YES - if you get the rep-cal products, you need to get 3 different things: the multivitamin, the calcium without D3 and the calcium with D3. You will also need to read up on how to properly pre-mix the supplements.

NO - if you get Repashy Superfoods Calcium plus ICB, you only need one supplement. This product contains all of the proper amounts of vitamins and minerals that you would be getting in those other three. That being said, a lot of us who use Repashy's multivitamin/calcium, will also purchase a calcium without D3 to be left in the cage with developing or gravid female geckos as an extra calcium supplementation. This is handy, but not necessary, and if you choose to do it this way, you still are buying less products than if you went solely with the rep-cal stuff.

Honestly imo the calcium should be available to ALL geckos that aren't adults (Hence Khrysty's "DEVELOPING Gecko's" statement) regardless of gender. After adulthood I would be more focused on the females specific needs, but I intend to keep a dish with my male anyway just to be safe.

Well yeah... Thats what I meant. I'm not going to just give it to the females I should have said both my males and females.

Is there any other brand that I could use like Trex or something.... If not... where can I find the repashy stuff??

I found mine on line. You could go directly to their website and order it. Just google Repashy superfoods. I'm sure there are alternatives that you could use such as Tremper suggests Osteo form for horses as the suppliment of choice. Still curious... If you've had your leo for a year-ish how have you been supplimenting him until now? You seem to be having a great deal of confusion over the very basic supplimentation processes for some one who's owned and properly cared for a leo for a year. Honestly it also tells me that you have spend ZERO time researching any of the threads posted in the link that was given to you very early on in this thread. It's a bit disheartening to see since you want to breed and are showing that you kinda don't have a clue and want all the info spoonfed to you rather than researching it for yourself simply by reading the NUMEROUS other posts ont eh matter.

Uh not to be rude but were you not "correcting" Jordon in another thread when you said that you wanted to BREED leo's and that you have been doing 2 years research on them ...when you only had your leopard gecko for a much shorter amount of time...
if you have been doing so much research on them ..shouldn't you know about this already? .. so please don't even think about breeding.

No need to come on this thread and cause problems. Thanks!
