I free feed Rango at this point because he's maintaining a weight I like. If he starts to gain too much, we'll cut back.
I keep a constant supply of small or medium mealworms in a dish, usually 10-16 and fill it back up when Echo eats them all or if she doesnt find an interest in the few remaining in the dish. Usually she will eat them all over a few day period and sometimes she will eat all of them over night.. I also give her crickets every night, usually about 4 dusted with repashys calcium plus.. Sometimes I'll put 6-8 in the viv if thats how many get shaken into the dusting bag.. She will usually eat them all over night but sometimes there is one or two still running around the next day.. But when I put in 4 or 5 crickets she will eat them all right away.. She loves chasing them around the tank. It seems like I am feeding her a lot but she was really thin when I got her, and she is looking good now, plus shes still just a juvie so my philosophy if she needs to grow, she needs to eat.
I've been thinking about doing a leave-in dish of mealworms. Might be easier than my nightly dusting and feeding for my two leos.
I've started leaving a dish with a few mealworms, but my leo still prefers crickets so I still give her a few, just not as many as I did before.I've been thinking about doing a leave-in dish of mealworms. Might be easier than my nightly dusting and feeding for my two leos.
