Mealworm Beetles?

Are mealworm Beetles safe? I was feeding my gecko and accidentally dropped a beetle into his dish. He ate it before I could remove it... So are they healthy? He seems to love them more than mealies..

Eating one isn't going to hurt him. but they have a hard shell that is difficult to digest so I wouldn't make a habit of it. When they first morph into beetles they are kind of creamy white and soft. That would be a better time to feed him the beetle.

As Lisa said, one will not hurt him... once he tries to poop that carapace he'll think twice next time! I wish my geckos attacked food that quickly!
