Leopard Gecko Supplementation Question

Hello everyone! Just a quick question...
I have an almost two year old pet Leopard Gecko and I am currently supplementing her with Zoo Med's Reptivite. She is doing great but I am wondering if she needs any other supplements or vitamins, etc. in her diet (I have no plans on breeding her). Any ideas on what I may be missing or need for her would be greatly appreciated! I would also like to know if there are any good options for "complete" Leopard Gecko supplements... I'm thinking maybe Repashy Calcium Plus?

Thanks! :main_yes:

You definitely need to supplement with Calcium and Calcium w/D3 as well. I highly suggest the Repashy Calcium Plus. It's a complete supplement that covers your Calcium, Calcium w/ D3 and Vitamin requirements in one supplement. You dust your feeders completely each feeding and that is it. No schedule to keep as to what supplement to use on what day. I also keep a small dish of plain Calcium (no D3) so each of my geckos can supplement their own Calcium as they feel the need in their enclosures.

Zoo-Med Reptivite is an all-in-one like Repashy Calcium Plus, so it already should contain calcium and D3. That being said, I also use Repashy Calcium Plus and my geckos do well on it.

As Amy mentioned, a lot of folks provide an additional dish of calcium in the cage. I also like to put emphasis on gutloading feeders with nutritious greens and vegetables to provide some more natural nutrients:

You're welcome. I think you'll like the Repashy Calcium Plus. It is a great way to supplement Calciums and Vitamins. [emoji4]

I agree with Indyana in that supplements are important, but gut-loading your feeders is just as important if not more so. Think of the insect as a plate... It is just a nutrition delivery system. It is what you put in the insect (gut-load it with) that actually provides your gecko with the majority of its nutrients. That is a great link she provided and there are some great threads here on GF about gut-loading feeders. Just depends on whether you are doing mealworms, crickets or roaches. :)

Thanks Indyana+Cowana! Right now I've been using Fluker's Cricket Quencher as a water source along with their High-Calcium diet to gutload my crickets, but I do hope to take the advice of that great link that Indyana provided soon.
Thanks for your help! :2thumbsup:
