Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and to leopard gecko keeping!

I'm going to be getting an adult female leopard gecko(don't know what morph though) she's about 3 and a half years old and seems quite healthy from the pictures I've seen of her.

Well my question is about the supplementing.., I've got calcium carbonate (swell reptiles own brand in the uk) and nutrobal, how should I be using them? I know I should leave the calcium in a dish at all times but I don't know anything else.

I've heard people using the calcium to dust the feeder insects with calcium 5 days a week and the nutrobal 2 times a week, is that right?should I do that?

Would a good routine be to dust 5 days a week with calcium and 2 days a week with nutrobal say Tuesday and Saturday??

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to GF!

I've never heard of Nutrobal. But it looks to me like most people use calcium carbonate 5 days a week and Nutrobal 2 days a week. So the schedule you came up with should be fine.

You also have the option of using something like Repashy Calcium Plus (actually not sure about availability in the UK) or something similar. The difference being that it's a supplement you can use every day with no additional ones needed. =)

Thank you for that!

Yeah, I think most people in the uk use nutrobal but repashy calcium plus is very much available in the uk too.

I might consider using the repashy calcium plus when my calcium and nutrobal have finished, seems very easy to use and probably cheaper!

Would I still have to leave a bowl of calcium in the enclosure?

Thanks again!

I only leave calcium for hatchlings and gravid females. Otherwise I don't find it necessary because I dust every feeding with Repashy Calcium Plus.
