I am currently supplementing twice per week with calcium plus and a bowl of supercal in their tubs, replaced monthly.

My question is what supercal should be used ? I am currently using hyD but the shop was out of that and i bought meD, trying to get info if anyone is using meD with leopard geckos.

Regards

For leopard geckos there is a danger of providing too much calcium so I think the meD is fine. There is a difference of opinion about leaving calcium in the enclosure. Some people are convinced that the gecko knows exactly how much calcium it needs and will supplement itself appropriately and some people are convinced that it won't. I switched to Repashy in 2009 and stopped leaving calcium in the enclosure except for new hatchlings. Things worked out well with that method.

I see, and how often do you supplement ? At first i was keeping the calcium in the enclosure only for hatchlings and females while in breeding season but on the past two years i have been keeping on all geckos.I havent had problems with oversupplementing so far.

I dust with calcium plus every other feeding and don't leave calcium in the enclosures. As far as I know, both of us have success with our geckos, so pick something and see how they do.
