Egg Bound but not Tragic!

Just wanted to share that not all egg binding stories end badly. This is one of my female RW albinos, Razz. She laid one clutch of eggs on 2/24/14 and then started making her next clutch. I noticed in mid-march she had one clutch fully formed and then in early April that she had what looked like two or three eggs on one side of her belly as there was a huge patch of solid white that almost ran the length of her body and she was still ovulating. I ran her to the vet and she was put on a course of injectable antibiotics. Once they were done I brought her back for a recheck and the vet was as curious as I was as to what was going on so he asked if he could ultrasound her at no cost to me. We did the ultrasound and he felt the mass was several desiccated eggs that were stuck in her oviduct. He believes she should live a long and happy life but her breeding career is over. The first two pictures are of Razz and the mass in her belly. They were taken yesterday, 4 months or so after the eggs were fully formed in her abdomen. She’s still one of my hungriest geckos and doesn't seem bothered by the mass. The second two pictures are of her two gorgeous baby boys.

I’m overjoyed that my story didn't have a tragic end! I plan to find her a special pet home in the near future where she won’t be around any male geckos that will encourage her to ovulate again so she can relax and enjoy the rest of her life without any more stress of breeding.

It looks like she has reabsorbed all of the yolks but what is left is a bunch of compacted egg shells. The vet said he thinks they are stuck there. If you can see in the photo the mass extends over most of the length of her abdomen. If's about 3 inches long, and 3/4 inch wide, a bit big to pass. I'm not hopeful it's going anywhere but I am hopeful that she can live a long and happy life with it as long as there are no complications from her ovulating next season.
