Dropped a hide a few cm onto male Eclipse's head :(

Hey everyone, well tonight I was just checking on all the animals and when I went to lift the male Eclipses hide, I had a back spasm and dropped the hide (it was one of those rock ones that's pretty heavy -.-). It fell a few centimeters onto his head and trapped him briefly before I free'd him.

I took him out, watched him walk and looked him over well. He doesn't have any visual damage/bruising/blood under the skin or anything, walking perfectly normal and all. I'm going to leave him well alone and try feeding tomorrow, but do you guys think he's okay? It didn't fall that far at all really.

Thoughts and opinions are appreciated, thanks!

Unless there's a small bleed somewhere internal that takes time to show signs I think he'll be fine if he's acting fine.

Thanks DrCarrotTail- I'll watch him closely for the next few days and hopefully he's fine. He was acting normal even right after it happened so I think he will be just fine.

I felt like such an idiot when I dropped that hide though. My heart just about sank lol

If it's been 12 hours and he's fine I think you don't need to worry much. I think the danger would be in the few hours after the injury. If nothing adverse has happened I'd assume he's okay and be more careful in the future! I'm too clumsy to use heavy hides - several of my geckos would have suffered from similar accidents if I did...haha. Another reason why I use cardboard and styrofoam! :p

From what you said, he is fine :D It's been much more than 12 hours and everything appears good. Yeah for all my other animals I use those reptilebasics pvc(?) hides that aren't heavy at all, but in my SHTCTB tub I've always had the rock type hides. Going to change that pretty quickly.

Thanks a bunch for all the help, I really appreciate it!

Update: he just ate for the 2/3rd time, and without hesitation! I'm so happy, because that's a pretty good sign I'd think xD

Also, I'm going to have an epic thread tonight of all the geckos/snakes so, that'll be fun.
