New Leo - One Eye Black?!

Hey guys,

I've just bought a new Leopard Gecko from an exotic pet shop. Worryingly, we noticed one of her eyes is very dark, but there is a pupil if you look closely. There's possibly swelling, or it might just be me. At first, it only looked like a cosmetic issue. But as of today, that she she keeps squinting it.
The shop said we could return her if there was no improvement. Although, I've grown quite attached.

She is approx. 1 year old (apparently, but looks very juvenile).

Is it an infection? How would I go about treating it?

I'm getting rather worried in case she's in a state of discomfort.

Here's a comparison image:

All help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jordan

Here's a more comparative image of both eyes taken with a DSLR (unfortunately, no macro lens at hand, hence out of focus).
The right one definitely has a black rim and is much darker. But little or no swelling.

My first impression is that it's within the range of normal for leopard gecko eyes. It would be good to see if the pupil reacts to light. If it doesn't, then she probably can't see out of that eye.

The color looks normal but the eyelid looks a bit swollen. Her mouth also looks like it's opened a crack in the good photo. I'm not sure if anything is going on or not but I might open her mouth and see if anything looks unusual inside. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a little mouth rot going on and if there is she'll need to see a vet for treatment.

Thanks for the advice. The pupil reacts to light as it should. As for the mouth, everything looks fine. I look her down to the shop I got her from today and the in-house herpetologist gave her eye a thorough clean. Some skin did come out of the eye. But she's still having issues. Hopefully things fair up in the next few days.
