Got our gecko about a week ago. My concern is about the way the eyes / eye lids look. uploadfromtaptalk1435633205599.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1435633257688.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1435633300359.png uploadfromtaptalk1435633312711.png

Right looks bigger than the left. More of a rounded eye lid. Left side as you can see looks different. Possibly a deformity, or is the left normal, and the right is swollen? Both open and close just fine. Nothing nasty coming out of them. Hunts and eats just fine. To me just looks off, and am looking for any idea what's going on. Any other info needed just ask. Thanks

I contacted the mom and pop pet shop where I got it from. Pretty sad that they even tried to sell it. They said it was swollen and they were putting neosporin in it and it was getting better. I brought up infection and they agreed. For one why try selling it if you knew something was wrong. They said flaired up again probably because of the stress of moving. I disagree. It's very relaxed and when I place my hand in the tank it always peeks out and comes to my hand. Loves to cuddle in the wife's clevage too lol. Anyhow they offered to trade it back but we really like it. I emailed a local vet that deals with all animals according to website. Sent pics and info of the problem. Lady said she is letting Dr look and will get back to me. Hopefully we can get this cleared up.

@rowsley Best luck to you my friend.
Thank you. The vet said to just keep flushing with saline solution and use a cold compress on the eye to help with the swelling. If need be come in for a ointment.

And I told him the pet shop was using neosporin on the eye,and he said exactly

DONT EVER USE NEOSPORIN!!!!

So we will do this and see what happens and if it comes to it we just go pay for a checkup and the meds.

I'm starting to think that I'm not dealing with an infection at all. The eye that looks smaller, almost looks like the skin above the eye could have at one time healed together. We can use a wet qtip and pull the skin back and see it looks healed together. Maybe with a shed it will fix its self. As of now it seems to be holding the eye down from raising out of the head. I really don't know. Not getting feed back here either.

Ok this what I'm thinking. uploadfromtaptalk1436016690280.jpg the eye I have circled. It's almost like extra skin and folds over. We can take a wet q tip and gently pull back that skin easily. The other eye which I thought was swollen, actually just seems to been normal all along. My guess is the circled eye was the eye the pet shop was treating and the swelling went down and it had stretched that skin, or perhaps due from a bad shed around that area? The eye just seems a lot more shrunken in the head. It's just starting to baffle me.
