I have a female that was off of heat for 2 years that I rescued and recently she has been breathing with what sounds to be slight popping from her nose or something. I ordered medicine online and it should be here in about 3 weeks, do you think she'll pull through?

She also stopped eating and has no signs of ovulation.

Don't know any cheap vets near my area, everything is $200+

It's what happens when you live in Canada. Vets are 200$ plus meds are like $50+. Free Healthcare doesn't mean shit for animals here.

I have a uth, moist hide, warm hide, cool hide, water dish, calcium dish, and she's on paper towel. I'm monitoring her condition daily to make sure it's not getting worse.

On closer investigation, I don't think I (personally) would self medicate using this medication. It's not harmless. Perhaps you could at least find a vet to call?

Edit: I'm a little confused about this. Baytril appears to be prescription only and injectable. Are you planning to do the injections, or did you find an oral one?

Either way, I don't think you should attempt this without veterinary guidance.

I'm not trying to be rude, but why did you take in a sick rescue if you weren't willing to go to the vet?

I have the dosage down I just need to take her weight. It's just an antibiotic if taken orally in small doses daily it'll cure, vets give the injection-type home for homeowners to self-inject everyday for a cure, I think orally is a lot safer.

I didn't know she was sick and just started to show symptoms a few days after I got her, she has probably had it a while before I took her in and is showing it now. I will take her if it's getting worse, so far it's died down and the popping noise isn't there so after her medication, weighed, and properly dosed, if she's still popping I found a vet that'll do a checkup for 80$ which isnt a problem for me. I just have so many rescues it's not worth the vet visits unless necessary and if I can get baytril without spending 100+ dollars on meds without a vet doing the same, it just makes sense. Plus if I have some left over and the shelf life is long, I can use it to my advantage for any other encounters with RI.

It's not rude, it's normal not knowing someones circumstances, but it's in my best effort to keep my rescues alive, but I try to do the best I can without spending pointless money, and vets are vets for a reason, but I think I need a bad case for me to see a vet. Especially considering the doped up prices in Canada for a mere checkup.

Well, I wouldn't recommend it, but please be careful if you do use it. I don't mind people self medicating with things like panacur but baytril seems a deal riskier.

I wouldn't use it without research and proper dosage with weight. I'll give her less and use it for more days rather than give more for less days, I'm taking the safest route I can with this
